Leicester City v City post match.

This defeat was entirely the responsibility of the coach.

He selected players in a system that left them entirely exposed. If it's true that Pep studies his opponents for a minimum of 6 six hours before we play & then discusses his plans with his coaches, one can only wonder at what they were thinking. We do not have the players to effectively play the systems that Pep wants to play. He's hanging them out to dry and the all the changes of tactics and players match by match is making things worse not better. The players look completely befuddled !!

After reading PEP CONFIDENTIAL I was more worried than enthused. Pep came across as obsessively evangelical about his beliefs, almost dangerously so. His personality appears to be very complex, emotional with extreme highs and lows, schizophrenic almost.

Knowing what our squad quality & mentality was like I was very uneasy even before a ball was kicked in anger. Coaches worked us out very quickly,Wenger even did it in the pre season friendly. The games tactics have moved on from 7 years ago and if Pep believes that he can turn sows ears into silk purses in the PL he's mistaken. You can put lipstick on a pig,but it's still a pig !!

Last nights defeat was not Bravos fault, and I for one don't rate him. But sacking Joe Hart could come back to haunt Pep,particularly if it becomes a rallying point for fans frustration. Joe would've been the one constant, experienced leader in a defence that has lacked everything required of even a mid table team.

After today's results we could be fifth,7 points behind the renters with arse next......12 months ago we were top ahead of Leicester. Anybody else now believe that Pep learns more from defeats & set backs than victories......no me neither !!

PS....CITY 2 - arse 1.

Not sure it is Peps fault that Kolarov didn't mark correctly for the first goal or he gave the ball away for the third and then watched the player run past him. Is it Pep's fault that Stones can't pass a ball for the fourth? At the moment we have no leader at the back and the majority of the players are finished. How many of our defenders would any of the top six want?

F
Txiki has given Pep three years to shape City into a world beating team. He inherited a good team that was over the hill. His remit is to buy the best young talent available and mould them into a top Euro team.

He clearly doesn't understand the Prem, because westruggle against teams we should be putting away. That said, the finishing has been absolutely shocking at times. Even the Chelsea game. KDB shot goes under the bar and game over, but it doesn't. Even today, get the two penalties and the game is a completely different game. Pep is not getting the rub of the green, but then neither is proven Prem destroyer, Mourinho. Sucks to be a manager, eh?!

So, what to do? First things first...batten down the hatches! He needs to ease off on the playing out of the back, stick with Ota and Stones at the back (unless one is suspended or injured), with Sagna and Kolarov at FBs...but without the requirement to bomb forward!

Four man midfield, with KDB on left, Sterling on right. Middle two pick themselves, but not for two more games, unfortunately, so Gundogan and Yaya (to steady the ship and keep the ball moving), with Silva in the hole (switching with KDB) and whichever "forward" is available!!!

Lots more to discuss, including HOW we play, but if I start down that route, people will start throwing video game references, so why bother?!

Good luck to us all!

Fuck kolorov, can't deal

Absolute fucking shite, embarrassing performance. Team full of shithouses. No fight in that team whatsoever. Can't wait for the Watford game, 20/30 sideways passes til we get to midfield then another 20/30 passes out wide, shit cross that hits first man, back to midfield, try and get in the box, no,back to midfield, hope Kev can nick a goal and scrape a 1-0 win! Can't wait

The thing is here we could all more or less see what was going to happen, Leicester got in our faces and created problems for us from the get go, just like last season. It was also inevitable that Vardy would score, just like Roberts did on Tuesday night for Celtic. Typical City never goes away.
Next Sunday is Arsenal. and we will all pin point where Arsenal will cause problems for us but sadly Pep will continue planning and setting us up in a kamikaze way. It's absolutely unbelievable.

A good post and I don't disagree with much of it. It's clear he needs to find an approach that isn't a complete departure from his style but that also makes the most of the players he has...at least until he gets them in. Someone made a point yesterday of how the club failed to prepare adequately for peps arrival in player recruitment...I tend to agree with this, several should have been moved on

The decision to move Joe on, in hindsight looks well wide of the mark but I would think there was more to that behind the scenes than we knew about at the time.

This what annoys me most about what we saw yesterday. The players getting the blame for the manager's idiot ideas.

Kolarov losing a sprint with Vardy is not down to lack of pace. Zabaleta not being able to overlap is not down to effort.

Square pegs in round holes. No one has any objection to attacking football and risk-taking but use your assets appropriately.
