Leicester (N) - Community Shield | Post-Match Thread

Aye and the forum has got more than its share of negative whinging arseholes as well.

Take your pick.
That's life mate. It takes all sorts.

Suffice to say that the world would be a very sad place if we all shared the same opinion on everything.

Always remember, a glass half full contains the same amount as one half empty.

Never like to lose but had a feeling we would after seeing the team sheet. I thought we done well considering and they pretty much had their strongest team out.
This game told us nothing really, would have preferred us to win obviously.

Mendy is absolutely fucking useless at defending by the way, can’t hold the line, can’t mark his player or see the danger from the blind side. Like the guy but as a footballer he is fucking awful.

In a weird way the Leicester goal saved us embarrassing ourselves in a penalty shootout because I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have practiced them.
Pep needs to appreciate that many fans travel a long way at great expense to watch City in semis and Finals and maybe he could take it as seriously as they do. Asking for a friend who is down £300.
Fans have a choice whether to spend £300 on glorified pre season friendly that has little significance ( barring injuries)on rest of season at that overpriced shithole of a place.

He’s not great at going around players, crossing or running either. Mind you, Ake ain’t that great either and Cancelo is a liability if allowed anywhere near a defensive position.
Shocking how much money has been spent on defence. Even at full strength, it is a house of cards at times and the one real weakness in the team.
Zak had a blinder though and was the one positive in defence.

Yeah mate he's so bad, he gets caught out of position so much. Cancelo is going to be a problem aswell I think. Hopefully Walker and Zinchenko can stay clear of injuries.

A number of times I noticed players losing the ball, but not tracking the back to recover the situation. That suggests either they weren’t taking the game seriously, or were unfit. None of that hunting in packs we’re used to seeing!
Sure it’ll be sorted soon enough.

I didn’t think it was a penalty, as Nacho pulled Nathan back, causing Aké to fall and catch Kelechi's legs. It was a foul, but to City, not against.

On a positive note, though, it was a good workout for the boys, especially Palmer and Edozie. Neither looked out of place and both deserve their place in the senior squad.
I thought Ake raised his legs when on the ground to impede the Leicester player. It looked more like Ake went to ground for me.

It was a very very iffy pen and before that we were the better/dominant team.

Also we made 6 subs ffs and leciester did the same, I know coaches like Bobby, Pep and Klopp have made winning this important again as a valid trophy, but out of the many winable this ranks about 5th/6th.

I think he did, but only after the Leicester player had battered him in the knee first (which is what caused him to go to ground). It was almost like he thought “I might not get a free kick here unless I do something that forces the ref to stop play”, and so he lashed out.
