Wembley is great to go to for a day out if you’re staying over afterwards. Going there and back in a day isnt a great experience and takes a bit of the edge of the day as you’re constantly looking at your watch hoping it doesn’t get to extra time and pens.

That trip back to Manchester after the Villa cup final game was the worst in living memory. It just seemed like a 200 mile tailback on the M1 and M6 caused by accidents roadworks and that ridiculous cross country diversion.

Why would you care how late you get back? Extra time & pens just means more footie for your money...

Being the sole driver and driving there and back in one day especially for a Sunday game is knackering especially getting up for work next day. Can’t take the Monday off as the kids have school so have to do it in one day.

The best Wembley trip was v Watford . Got there early on the Saturday had a few beers before and after then curry and hotel. Completely different experience .

I usually make a weekend of it. Go down Friday come back Monday but I’m not yet confident enough to spend time in London after seeing the way things are there so I’m giving it a miss this time. :-( Very sad face:-(

I know I could go for the day but it would then take me nearly a week to recover as I find it too tiring! Did it with my Canadian family last time and that was tiring enough not risking it again.

I don’t think it’s so much that fans love it, more that they have to acknowledge a fait accompli and if they want to watch their favourite (or even non favourite) teams unfortunately they have to watch at the times dictated. The TV companies have us over a barrel.

Got to be the Charity Shield, as we all know if we didn't already games at Wembley are free to get in !!

Looking forward to it although I can’t imagine we’ll be fielding a strong team. But then again, it’s a good chance to see the likes of Doyle, Palmer and Delap.
