Hes defensively sound look at the stats i linked in the previous page if u want

But not as sound as Clichy.....

Hes not that far off. and is far superior in attack..

Valuable if you're Everton, not so much if you're a team that has Kun, Dzeko, Navas, Yaya, Nasri, Silva etc.

I actually think that Baines is a very good LB.....Is he an upgrade on Clichy ? depends on your opinion...would either of them accept warming the bench too often ? probably not....I'd sign a quality younger player and strengthen other areas.........

If Dzeko was their centre forward, he would easily score 30+ goals a season. I hope we keep him to get on the end of the multitude of crosses being whipped in from Navas.

Anyhow, since when was crossing a faux pas? I must have missed that memo!

When the whole game plan is built on passing to the wings every fukin time they go forward to rely on deflected own goals or jammy goals it becomes shit/skilless football. im still baffled why they bought kagawa he was on the bench since he did fuk all for them CUZ THEY dont pass the ball or initiate anything from the middle of the field. buying tiago is another crazy buy since he will do nothing but pass the ball to baines or the sewer rat rafael

That's actually inaccurate if you use last season as an example. Rooney and Carrick supplied the majority RVP's goals. And it was widely acknowledged that nani and valencia had a stinker all season and young was cropped.

Looking at ourselves, we had problems scoring due to a lack of width, which is why we have signed Navas and are after another winger to balance the side. Also, look at all the successful teams in Europe last season. Munich with Ribery and Robben, Dortmund with Reus and Błaszczykowski. Just because Mancini wasn't into wingers, doesn't mean that we've written it off as a style of play!

I agree its called balance Munich did both. its alright to attack from the wings its good to watch but to build the whole ethos of a club around deflected goals and jammy finishes sorry thats not good.

While I agree with you, this is based on him playing for Everton (A set piece team). Going to the Rags, he ain't getting the ball off RVP to take many free kicks/corners, so his assists/goals will plummet and he will become a more ordinary left back...

Lads Baines is a class player. Whoever is saying he isn't has their head in the sand. He would be a great purchase for us and would probably be an upgrade on Clichy given his attacking prowess and ability from the dead ball.

From memory our corners/free kicks on the whole are wank so would actually be a great addition for us.

I agree... My comment was about him going to the Rags... Very good player, great set piece taker... Would improve us no end from that point of view. But RVP pretty strong at Set Pieces also, so Baines wouldn't get a look in most of the time for them lot...

Good man, it's like last season didn't happen! Although, I can't recall RVP scoring a 'bad' goal all season. I might be wrong, coz I've tried to blank it out as much as possible, but even I gasped at the volley that won goal of the season.

Maybe not so maybe not the great signing that many rags will proclaim. Evra actually chips in with assists/goals too so not sure he will offer much more going forward but will probably improve them defensively slightly.

For us I think he would be an improvement on what we have.
