From memory our corners/free kicks on the whole are wank so would actually be a great addition for us.

I agree... My comment was about him going to the Rags... Very good player, great set piece taker... Would improve us no end from that point of view. But RVP pretty strong at Set Pieces also, so Baines wouldn't get a look in most of the time for them lot...

Maybe not so maybe not the great signing that many rags will proclaim. Evra actually chips in with assists/goals too so not sure he will offer much more going forward but will probably improve them defensively slightly.

For us I think he would be an improvement on what we have.

He would vastly improve our set pieces, which are in the main woeful... For the Rags, he wouldn't improve them by too much, as RVP is very good at set pieces already and he would still take the majority....

Agreed. English too. I'm sure the FA will change the rules to increase the number of English qualified players starting each game and playing on the bench.

Re: Leighton Baines

He will end up at the Rags but lets get a £20m bid in just to up the price! Fuck the 'Baines snubs Citeh' headlines. We're used to them now anyway but it would be great to cost them another £10m and reduce their transfer kitty in the process

Re: Leighton Baines

Agreed. He will definitely be at the swamp next season, its a dream move for him and, subsequently,i imagine he will be putting pressure on Everton to release him.

As above though,we can make this very hard work for the Rags,we should lodge an 18m bid asap, even if it backfires we acquire a player upgrade in a position we could be stronger.

Win win!

Re: Leighton Baines

He's certainly a very good full back but maybe he looks so good because he has a very solid, defensively minded midfield in front of him at Everton who are difficult to break down. The rags back line are a little less difficult to get at.

Best left back in the league by a country mile anyone who doesn't agree clearly doesn't understand football
