Yeah, I rate the chances of Ade going there as 0%. But I could see maybe SWP + Nedum (it'd be painful to see two homegrown lads who love our club go there though). They are interested in Bellamy too but again it'd be the wages issue. Nedum's wages are a pittance (30k/week or so) and SWP will accept a wage drop according to Zat Knight.

AHA! Bastos doesn't play left back, Clichy is not as good, and Coentrao only wants to go to Madrid. As for scouting on a punt. That is what we thought we were doing with Kolarov. Then he cost us a good penny, turned out to like glory more than football, and a year later we are at it again. Perhaps it is time we change strategies. Sure we could find some decent options. There is Boilesen at Ajax who looks like a future star. Isaguirre who was voted best player in Scotland (to win it as a Leftback, you had to have been phenomenal). Alvaro Perreira the sweet crosser at Porto. Contento the speedy left at Bayern. The Italian left back (can't remember his name now), Teves City's boy above :P, and many more. This is where our extensive scouting system should come in to it. From the top of my head......Bastos, Clichy, Coentrao look good. There must be loads more though who are up and coming and who we can take a punt on for 10M or less.

I was a bit underwhelmed at Baines being mentioned at first but the idea's been growing on me seeing his stats. He's still only 26 which surprised me as he seems to have been around for ages.
No way they could afford Ade's wages but maybe Bridge in part-ex so they have a LB still (we may have to subsidise wages) and one other plus some cash would be decent for us and not too bad for them.
A lot depends on the wage situation though as it's well known they are potless so adding 2 wages may mean a £10m fee doesn't do much more than fund the incoming wages of 1 player.

Like I said, not an expert but pointing out that we can get better for or money. Sounds like you know your stuff. No manager ever get's things 100% right.

I agree, the Cissikho (?) thing might have just to see if we could get a descent LB on the cheap or let Everton we have other options dont get stupid.
If we include the wages supplement for Bridge and say Ballamy, we might have to pay them £16m plus the two players (just because of stupid money wages.) Real value would be closer to £10m.

I am fine with baines he is a solid player if over inflated price wise by one fine season.
My problem is dealing with everton and moyes. Very unprofessional outfit to do a deal with.
