Not world class but underrated. An improvement on what we have? Maybe. Decent left peg but surely we should be aiming higher?

Not saying your wrong. But name a few who are better? And we would be able to get, so not like Asheley Cole and Evra.
Ha! Was about to ask the same :)

This is where our extensive scouting system should come in to it. From the top of my head......Bastos, Clichy, Coentrao look good. There must be loads more though who are up and coming and who we can take a punt on for 10M or less.

How about this guy ?

Enrique is pretty good but Baines is quite a bit better so there is no reason to go for Enrique if we can get Baines (which we can - Everton are pennyless and not in the position they were during the Lescott saga).

Hypothetically speaking, Baines' league assists could have gotten us 2nd place last season on goal difference above Chelsea since he notched up 11 (compared to Kolarov's 0) and our goal difference was -9 compared to Chelsea.

Baines and Dzeko. Ideal combination. Or Enrique. Would be very happy with either player

young.prem experience.english...check all.

But most importantly he's a balanced character to add to the locker room.

Plus I think he'd be open to rotation with Kolarov.

MANCHESTER CITY are ready to test Everton's resolve by offering a £20million package for Leighton Baines.

Eastlands chief Roberto Mancini is a long-term fan of the Blues left-back, and asked Goodison boss David Moyes about him last year.

Those inquiries got a swift knockback.

But Moyes is so strapped for funds he cannot even make a down payment on top target Charles N'Zogbia.

The Everton gaffer knows he must sell one of his main men to have any serious cash to spend.

And England star Baines - who cost £6m from Wigan four years ago - could raise £20m.

City would be willing to cough up around £10m in cash for the 26-year-old PLUS two players.

Emmanuel Adebayor and Nedum Onuoha would top the list of candidates, as Everton are keen to bring in a new striker and strengthen their backline.

Moyes also hopes to raise around £4m when Joseph Yobo's loan move to Fenerbahce becomes permanent.

Ade, Onuoha and 10m seems like a bit much but I suppose it would get rid of 2 players we dont need, they'd both make a huge difference to everton.
I would be quite happy if that happened.

10m plus Ade and Ned - yeah right....

Besides that lunancy in itself, where exactly would the dippers find Ade's 150k wages ??

What a load of tripe.
