From a footballing point of view I'm not convinced. Ota doesn't strike me as a pep player. Given we have been chasing pep for so long I'd have thought one or two of our signings would have worked this into our thought process.
Yeah maybe so at the moment but after Peps had a look at him he might be able to do something with him it's not like Otas a complete dud he's a great tackler, good in the air, not bad on the ball apart from a few stray passes and isn't slow, basic CB attributes there really

Vialli, Zola and di Matteo did well. To counterbalance Bianci, Taibi etc. I'm not sure it's the nationality or league they come from which matters as much as their personality and willingness to make it work. Many that made it to England were rubbish in any league

Which may be a personality trait of the way that footballers are brought up. I'd certainly be happy with more of them.
Although they do describe Argentinians as Italians who speak Spanish and want to be English
