L'Equipe: Caicedo loaned to Sporting for 1 year (merged)

Re: Caicedo to Sporting Lisbon loan confirmed OS

I Would have liked to have kept him and sent Bojinov on loan instead, as I think Boj may not get enough games now at the Club especially without any European Games this Season.

I hope he continues to improve and comes back with his reputation further enhanced. Like a lot of the Forum I am a big fan of Big Phil and just imagine if it really goes well for Sporting Lisbon ( and therefore him ) We could possibly have the new Drogba on our hands.

I wish him all the best.

I wish him the best. Hopefully regular play will help him and he can return and be a key player for us in the future. I have always liked him.

Good Luck to the lad. Maybe his lack of pace won't be an issue out there.

i flipped it big style on the Kaiser Chiefs match thread about this guy.. on reflection I probably looked a bit of a menstrual Michael.

But he doesn't half irritate me the useless twat, best of luck to him out there.. hopefully he earns himself a permo deal

Haha.

The same Caicedo who some bet would never score a goal, is this the same one?!

City fans in fickle shocker!

Played 1112 minutes - scored 8 (or 7)

Goals/minutes ratio 1 goal per 139 mins (or 1 goal per 158 mins)

That's better than 1 goal/two games ratio (for both) which is generally reckoned to be the sign of a class goalscorer.

This is while leading the line (target man) at a mid-table PL club at the age of 20.

Maybe he will never be a 25 goals/season guy (maybe he will turn out to be complete cack) but he looks the most promising out of all our youngsters and to let him go without giving him a chance to prove he can keep that sort of scoring record going would be really, really, stupid - especially if another team is taking the risk.

Good luck to him I say, still young, lot to learn and playing in a different league for a season will do him good imho. I can't see any losers in this, if he makes a go of it and shines will come back a better player, if he doesn't want to come back we will get money for him.

wish him well, and only good will come...

if he does shit we take him back and sell to a lower club
if he does average then sporting can have him
if he does well we can have him back

good luck big phil!

i do like the way city are going about some our there business with potential players like hart and big phil they get the experience needed and if we want them back we have better more experienced players back if all goes well.
