Sané played on the left wing in every game he played in that season.He shifted Sterling from RW to LW instead of Sane after the 100 points season.
Love Pep and appreciate his work, but he is human & humans makes mistakes.
Sterling played on the left wing 31 times, the right wing 18 times and as a centre forward twice.
Like he says Cancelo is an important part of his team.Pep wanted to keep Leroy didn’t he

If the price/wages were right, I’d take him in a heartbeat. Looked their best player against us, was fantastic when he was with us, and with the defence we’ve got, he won’t need to track back half as often.

They only played on the natural sides so Sterling could work on parts of his game from the right. The plan was swap to inverted eventuallyThat wasn’t a mistake. At the time Sterling was a much more versatile player than Sane
