Crazy how shit he's been at Bayern isn't it. Seems like it was a good move for everyone, unless you're BayernCrazy how we wanted him to stay then wasn’t it
Was this back in the euro nfl days??? The gulf in class was miles. Hell, that league was subpar to most college football, so a guy from that league getting to the Patriots should have been a proud moment. It’s like when an American gets into the premier league. I get hyped to see them play with the best in the world.German national arrogance is ridiculous.
I’ve first hand experience, as I was heavily involved in American football. I once spoke to the head of the German American football league and they were frothing at the mouth that a lad left their league to play for the New England Patriots.
I pissed myself laughing that they genuinely saw this as a slap in the face when the reality was the two leagues are 100 levels apart, but they couldn’t wrap their head around why he’d leave Germany.
I saw what happened with Leroy and saw the exact same thing playing out.
Not even the jags or the dolphins, wondering why would he got to the Pats! Was this back in the euro nfl days??? The gulf in class was miles. That could be said about many players but it takes far more than talent to get to the very top and then stay there. He should be one of the best players in the world by now.
At Manchester City
2017/18 - 14 goals, 19 assists
2018/19 - 14 goals, 18 assists
Last 2 seasons at Bayern Munich
2020/21 - 10 goals, 12 assists
2021/22 - 14 goals, 15 assists
His City stats are marginally better than Phil Foden's and as for Grealish, he has to improve a lot to produce this output.
I was a big fan of an in form Leroy, no finer site FWIW purely from memory I don't remember him ever being really the same.again after the thug Joe Bennett nearly crippled him at Cardiff. Looked extremely bad but didn't go, tackle on a city player exemption tule applied.Loads of back and forth on here about his drop off in form, but we should remember that he had a major injury that effectively put him out for a year.
Knee surgery has obviously moved on leaps and bounds over the past decade and you rarely hear of players having to retire now. But the injury could have robbed him of that final few percentages which can make the difference for a player like him.
At his peak I thought he was an exceptional player for us, but clearly he’s failed to hit that level again.
He has been shit there, no argument. Did city want him to stay. Yes.Crazy how shit he's been at Bayern isn't it. Seems like it was a good move for everyone, unless you're Bayern
Actually just looked it up he got 2 yellows that day, apparently but still dumid Leroy no goodI was a big fan of an in form Leroy, no finer site FWIW purely from memory I don't remember him ever being really the same.again after the thug Joe Bennett nearly crippled him at Cardiff.
