Even though some people refused to pass him the ball lol I think he was one of the most effective players on the pitch. Broke through in a couple of occasions to set up good chances and although his contribution defensively was not eye- catching, it was effective and was one of the reasons why we were able to dominate Chelsea for most of the game.

Hardly ever passed to. When he was he did very little with it and looks afraid.

Really? Don't get me wrong I thought he looked a bit nervy (more so early on) but I thought he produced our most exciting moments. Would have had a couple of assists if not for the block on Aguero and De Bruyne showing hesitation.

He was outstanding. For me he now should be given a run of games. Thought he was our best player versus Southampton and now had a solid game against a top opponent. We collapsed when he came off.

Be interesting to see him vs Celtic.

You didn't watch the game, did you??

Where I would agree, he did seemed to get ignored by team mates especially first half. However with the ball at him feet looked exactly what we need, direct with pace.

Strange Pep hooked him when he was most effective.

Grew into the game yesterday. I was surprised Pep took him off when he did, it really doesn't make sense to me.

He was excellent as his confidence grew, I can only think he was carrying because until he was hooked, Moses was totally ineffective!!

A bit raw at the minute but we saw glimpses of what he can do! I think he needs a run of games.

I want to see him burst forward, beat players for pace and smash a few in the net. He got 13 goals last season so he's obviously capable he just needs to have the confidence to take players on.

We are asking him to play a lot deeper tbf.

I would love to know why the rest of the team think it's okay not to pass to this lad when he moves himself in to acres of space in dangerous positions and calls for the ball.

I have no idea what's going on with this but that is now two games on the trot where it has been blindingly obvious that the rest of the team will only pass to Sane as a last resort. Can't see what he's done to deserve such a lack of faith since he's been really promising every time he has played.

I haven't seen a reluctance to pass to a player like this since the last days of Dzeko

Best game so far by a country mile on Saturday. More of that please.

Definitely a handful for opposing defenders going forward and can create plenty of space for teammates to exploit but his defensive play is currently very poor IMO.
Probably will get plenty of minutes in next few weeks with suspensions, any injuries and out of favour players limiting our options and I'm sure he will be given plenty of work on the physical side of his game before long.

What's his actual favorited position? Would like to see him there wherever it is in a full strength side. Played well Saturday
Yes he did. Did not understand why Guardiola subbed him off. The instruction should have been to get him the ball at all times instead we kept going towards Navas. Sane over-runs the ball at times, and his passing can be better, but you can see he's going to be a very good player for us. In time I can see him playing down the middle.

Chelsea fans seem to think removing Sane turned the game for them. He's definitely not a wingback but he kept Moses pegged back and did more for our shape and width than Clichy did.

His run in behind for a ball Silva played over the top and his surging run through the middle demonstrated what he can offer us when confident and utilized correctly. Hope he plays further forward against Celtic and plays himself into some form.

They were right. It was a dumb swap. Just coz a guy has "D" next to his name doesn't always mean he is a better option. Clichy was always going to make us worse in that scenario.

That one was on Pep.
