Lescott [Merged]

In fairness we would have to pay someone to take Ben Haim. He is shit but also on a 3 year £60k contract.

Lets say we can find someone to take him, not worth more than £30k a week. So difference in wages £4.68 million.

We will end up having to pay him a couple of million to leave on a free Transfer IMO and that would still be good business ! If we could get Everton to take him and £20 million for LEscott we should take their arms off !

Dunne should stay though, dont want him going to Everton or Villa if he has to leave Sunderland would be a good option even if we get less money.

I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago, but when big bad dunne was winning(undeservedly)the POTY awards, why did none of the top 10 ever come in with a bid, in fact, why did no club at all come in with a bid, i tell you why, because no club would go near him, only now its clubs like stoke who want him, and desperation moves from redknapp etc, i'd love for him to be part of the lescott deal, but moyes wont want dunne

spurs and villa like him (fact) and when moyes told you he didn't want dunne, did he update you on his lescott stance?

yes thats right boys, let's slag off our captain on a forum that A LOT of neutrals/journo's read!
your attitude astounds me, btw robbie didn't score 5 on saturday, let's see if we can swop him for kevin davies!

Tubthumping at it's finest, with a hint of "Reds Under the Bed" paranoia. Throw in a does of delusion about Bluemoon's importance in the world and you've got a classic Bluemoon posting there. Fair play to you Alex.

I'm totally with Origami on this one.

Dunne is not good enough any more. He had a decent game on Satuday but I remember at least once when Roberts came accross him and did him totally. It could have cost us a goal. Also there was yet another handball which should have been a penalty.

In our current situation, with a big squad of internationals and young players looking to come through, you can't have a player like Dunne blocking the progress of kids. If Lescott comes it's the end for Dunnie at City.

I'm pretty sure he's on the market right now. Thanks and all that Dunnie, good luck for the future. But we have to move on.

DD fair point, that is a very sensible post! imho it should've been posted a million pages ago, and this thread would have been put to bed ages ago! (btw i am also in agreement)

Spurs like him FACT? Is this the same Spurs who signed a Championship centre half for £8 million rather than bid for Dunne at £3 million less?

As for Villa they will struggle this year so it doesnt surprise me in the least that they would be interested in a player who is of mid-table quality at best!

Finally some sense!

Unfortunately us City fans have some terrible habits, one of these habits is we constantly over-rate our youngsters, I have lost count of the number of 'next big things' we have had come through the academy!

Our biggest flaw though is we dont see the bigger picture, when we get beat we are the worst team in the World and the manager should be sacked, when we win we are the greatest team the Premiership has ever seen! The same thing is happening with Richard Dunne, he has on the whole been awful for 18 months, he should have been dropped last season but fair enough there was very little to replace him with. This season he has ONE decent game against poor opposition and all of a sudden he is the best thing sliced bread and we no longer need Lescott.

Richard Dunne is finished at Manchester City, you only need to look at Mark Hughes' change of heart to see this, when he arrived last Summer he made it a personal crusade to get Dunne signed up to a new contract and now just 12 months down the line he has signed 1 centre back, made it quite obvious he wants another and has handed Ned a 5 year deal! For me it is as clear as day that Hughes does not see Dunne at the heart of our defence for much longer so somewhere along the lines some of you are going have to wake up and see that we have moving on and Dunne is not coming with us!
