His value has gone down not up due to the way Moyes has handled the deal and their very poor start to the season.

I would offer £18 million which is out last offer on the understanding that its done quickly and Moyes keeps his mouth shut. No more players as part of the deal straight cash.

If they dont except move on, sign Upson for £10 million or Distian for £4 million. Left footed do for a few seasons better than what we have with he exception of Toure (And possibly Kompany when hes fit and Nedum if he keeps improving)

Like I have said at this stage I would much rather leave Lescott where he is until January or after the world cup as its clearly unsettled the Everton team and manager. I think we could get him for substanitailly less if we wait and also wreck their chances of finishing in the top 6 this season.

agree the principle mate but I would go to £19M as it is an increase and we can afford it (I think if we go back with less than £18M we will look pretty stupid tbh)

Tubthumping at it's finest, with a hint of "Reds Under the Bed" paranoia. Throw in a does of delusion about Bluemoon's importance in the world and you've got a classic Bluemoon posting there. Fair play to you Alex.

I'm totally with Origami on this one.

Dunne is not good enough any more. He had a decent game on Satuday but I remember at least once when Roberts came accross him and did him totally. It could have cost us a goal. Also there was yet another handball which should have been a penalty.

In our current situation, with a big squad of internationals and young players looking to come through, you can't have a player like Dunne blocking the progress of kids. If Lescott comes it's the end for Dunnie at City.

I'm pretty sure he's on the market right now. Thanks and all that Dunnie, good luck for the future. But we have to move on.

totally in agreement...

Dunne has been a great servant, but we need the best players playing for us now in their best positions.
Dunne is not as good as Toure, Kompany Lescott (if we get him), and Onohua will be better in probably a year or so.
In addition you have the likes of Mee coming through...who simply wont get a chance if Dunne is still here.
I admire his willingness to fight and love for the club, but sometimes you have to seperate your head from your heart; and thats what Hughes may have to do.. :(

In the end we have all talked (during the Lescott saga),bout Moyes not doing wahst `right for the club (everton)'... well keeping Dunne..IF we get lescott, may not be whats right for us here at CITy.

Agree with this, as it stands the media are coming round to the fact that City have done very little wrong in this saga and Moyes is in fact being a tool! However if we now start playing silly beggars with our offers we will be open to all sorts of abuse. If I remember rightly we rejected £20 million from Chelsea for SWP and when he said he wanted to go they came back with a token gesture of an extra £million, they could quite easily have offered less but its not the way things should be done in my opinion!

Finally some sense!

Unfortunately us City fans have some terrible habits, one of these habits is we constantly over-rate our youngsters, I have lost count of the number of 'next big things' we have had come through the academy!

Our biggest flaw though is we dont see the bigger picture, when we get beat we are the worst team in the World and the manager should be sacked, when we win we are the greatest team the Premiership has ever seen! The same thing is happening with Richard Dunne, he has on the whole been awful for 18 months, he should have been dropped last season but fair enough there was very little to replace him with. This season he has ONE decent game against poor opposition and all of a sudden he is the best thing sliced bread and we no longer need Lescott.

Richard Dunne is finished at Manchester City, you only need to look at Mark Hughes' change of heart to see this, when he arrived last Summer he made it a personal crusade to get Dunne signed up to a new contract and now just 12 months down the line he has signed 1 centre back, made it quite obvious he wants another and has handed Ned a 5 year deal! For me it is as clear as day that Hughes does not see Dunne at the heart of our defence for much longer so somewhere along the lines some of you are going have to wake up and see that we have moving on and Dunne is not coming with us!

Some very valid points, hard to disagree with.

Kompany VS Lescott.

Do we really need to go and pay over the odds for Lescott with Vince yet to return? I for one think his best position is CB and we no longer need him in the centre of the park. Him and Toure for me are as good a pairing as Lescott. Might not score as many but we have enough goals in us now for things like that not to be an issue. I would rather get a top quality left back and someone to cover for Ireland now we have no Elano. Lescott is not a proper LB and at some point if Ireland gets injured or has a bit of a lean spell a bit of extra midfield flair will be essential. Van Der Vaart luked good the other night, and is allegedly available and Drenthe at Madrid is also an attacking, pacey LB. I thought Kompany had a brilliant first year and will only get better. Id rather we strengthen elsewhere and give Vince the nod at CB.

dead right fella - it's the empty vessel syndrome, it's why programmes like 606 are full of inane moaning idiots, most of who do not go to matches and do not have a clue about football, and invariably make farcical and negative comments. Let's face it most people who go to the games do not share these outrageously negative views about Richard Dunne - some do, most do not, but as I said at the start empty vessels...

I see this as a non-starter. I think Dunne would like to return to Everton if he was to leave us as he'd probably pick up where he left off in terms of relationship with the fans. TBH wouldn't even be considered for one second in my books! I don't think we'll get Lescott now but that's just a gut feeling. The last two I doubted though was Tevez and Adebayor...hmmm...;-)

Re: Kompany VS Lescott.

i think Kompany should partner Toure, its a shame he is injured, we also have Ned as cover for the CB position. Lescott would be a great addition to the squad, but for me i would leave him now, Moyes is being a dick and no matter what amount of money we throw at them or how much Lescott himself keeps saying he wants to leave i cant see Everton letting him go.

I would stick with Toyre Kompany and Neds as our CB's and have Dunne as cover, but im not the manager.

spurs and villa like him (fact) and when moyes told you he didn't want dunne, did he update you on his lescott stance?

Spurs like him FACT? Is this the same Spurs who signed a Championship centre half for £8 million rather than bid for Dunne at £3 million less?

As for Villa they will struggle this year so it doesnt surprise me in the least that they would be interested in a player who is of mid-table quality at best!
my argument bein that dunne doesn't just attract the struggling clubs in the prem, like the post before mine suggested! there are better than dunne and we need better than dunne but as a squad player (if he'd be happy with that) i think he'd be good back up, its clear of your opinion on dunne as whatever thread his name is bought up you are usually posting on there about your distaste for him! in squad terms i'd take dunne as a back up CB than what united had yesterday in o'shea!

The lescott deal will definately happen this week. I am no ITK but basic knowledge of the term 'Typical City' tells me that we are bound to pay £20 million+ for a player who was part of a defence that conceded 6 goals. *simples*
