Tubthumping at it's finest, with a hint of "Reds Under the Bed" paranoia. Throw in a does of delusion about Bluemoon's importance in the world and you've got a classic Bluemoon posting there. Fair play to you Alex.
I'm totally with Origami on this one.
Dunne is not good enough any more. He had a decent game on Satuday but I remember at least once when Roberts came accross him and did him totally. It could have cost us a goal. Also there was yet another handball which should have been a penalty.
In our current situation, with a big squad of internationals and young players looking to come through, you can't have a player like Dunne blocking the progress of kids. If Lescott comes it's the end for Dunnie at City.
I'm pretty sure he's on the market right now. Thanks and all that Dunnie, good luck for the future. But we have to move on.
Finally some sense!
Unfortunately us City fans have some terrible habits, one of these habits is we constantly over-rate our youngsters, I have lost count of the number of 'next big things' we have had come through the academy!
Our biggest flaw though is we dont see the bigger picture, when we get beat we are the worst team in the World and the manager should be sacked, when we win we are the greatest team the Premiership has ever seen! The same thing is happening with Richard Dunne, he has on the whole been awful for 18 months, he should have been dropped last season but fair enough there was very little to replace him with. This season he has ONE decent game against poor opposition and all of a sudden he is the best thing sliced bread and we no longer need Lescott.
Richard Dunne is finished at Manchester City, you only need to look at Mark Hughes' change of heart to see this, when he arrived last Summer he made it a personal crusade to get Dunne signed up to a new contract and now just 12 months down the line he has signed 1 centre back, made it quite obvious he wants another and has handed Ned a 5 year deal! For me it is as clear as day that Hughes does not see Dunne at the heart of our defence for much longer so somewhere along the lines some of you are going have to wake up and see that we have moving on and Dunne is not coming with us!
