Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has told Everton to sell Joleon Lescott to Manchester City.

Redknapp told the Daily Mail: “David Moyes should take the money for Joleon Lescott.

“He doesn’t want to be at Everton and Moyes will not want that negativity breeding in his dressing room.

He added: “It’s another example of player power.”

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes is said to be preparing another big-money bid for defender Joleon Lescott.

Eastlands chief Hughes is not ready to end his pursuit of England international Lescott yet and an offer of £22m plus a player will test the resolve of Goodison counterpart David Moyes.

Moyes continues to insist he will make the final decision of whether or not to sell, but reports linking the Blues with Magpies favourite Taylor could offer City some encouragement.

Hughes said: "If the transfer situation runs its course, then we will move away from it. We still feel there is a little bit to go in terms of what we can offer Everton."
