That actually made me laugh. How on Earth would that unsettle us, we've got great prospects, he loves it here and we're bringing in quality players, what could he possibly want to move to Everton for? More to the point they can't afford it!

When I read these comments from Hughes about pulling out I immediately thought that he was calling Everton's or more to the point Moyes's bluff. In other words he's sending the message that if he keeps the asking price at £30,000,000 then he'll walk away from the deal and leave him with an unhappy player and then we'll sign an alternative to Lescott who will probably be cheaper and more cost effective.
I'm just going to laugh if we don't get him for the simple reason that it took them five minutes to sing the anti-Lescott chants and then they'll all love him again if he doesn't come. The reason he won't come won't be because he doesn't want to but because Everton priced us out of a deal. It's as simple as that in my opinion.

A pleasure meeting you briefly the other week De Niro, sorry I had to shoot off but I saw a young lady I needed a word with, no doubt we will meet again through the season (your quite distinctive lol)
