Perhaps they flew down to Heathrow to get an onward flight to the States.

Ok, possibly but lets put it another way, Lescott left for Seattle with the Everton squad from Heathrow for Seattle this afternoon ! Oh and I am a very firm believer that he is coming.

Did you quote the wrong person? Because you are really arguing a completely different point.

If Lescott hands in a transfer request then of course that changes anything, but i'm talking from a general transfer perspective. If the Board do not need to sell, then it's Moyes decision as to who stays and who goes.

In the real world yes but this doesn't happen anymore in football.
Example:
Liverpools right back Alvaro Arbeloa is home sick since signing from Spain, Benitez doesn't have to sell him and doesn't want to sell but the player wants out, hence Johnson signing. I'm sure Benitez would of rather put that money towards someone else?
You wouldn't believe how much the players call the shots now......do you really think Taggart wanted Tranny to go?

Not exactly sure what your point is in relation to mine. I'm talking about the board making decisions on players staying/leaving not the players. Of course the players call the shots. The original post was saying that if the board wanted the money they would sell him whether Moyes wants him or not. That's not true - but of course if Lescott wanted out then it would bre the managers decision to sell him as he doesn't want an unhappy player on the books.

Its ironic there's Man City fans calling for Everton fans to have some humility and then coming out with some absolute dross thats just fuckin laughable!

Moyes a glorified Allardyce - I suggest you take this rather large bag of get to fuck and stick it up your arse! He may not be an advocate of the beautiful game, but to compare any manager that takes younger promising players, turns them in to internationals and finishes 6th, 5th, & 5th, with a 4th place thrown in there as well is about as far away from Sam Alardyce and his buying any player who's over 33 transfer policy! Seriously I pity some people on here! Moyes works with what he's got, and I challenge you to show me one manager outside the top 4 who's done a better job!

Also Everton are going backwards? How the fuck can you state this? How have we gone backwards??? If at the end of next season... thats the one thats not yet even started we finish below 5th then yes we have gone backwards. To state we are going backwards before the season even starts is frankly ludicrous!!!

I've spoken to some decent people on this board since the Lescott saga kicked off. Its a shame that for every decent fella who is able to post a good argument and listen to other fans points of view, there's 5 knuckle draggers who i'm suprised can even use a computer let alone post their inane drivle and insulting and small minded (and completely incorrect) views.

Its a shame because these people are giving the good folk who supprt City a very bad name!

The decent ones just happen to agree with you. What a coincidence!

Im a City fan and even im amazed sometimes at the total lack of knowledge some blues have, the total overestimations and overevaluations of City players and our fanbase, the total underestimations and underevaluations of players from other teams and their fanbases! the total disregard of the quality of Uniteds players, he's shit, he's shit, Irelands better than...etc if they are all so shit why do they keep winning trophies?- no wonder the Rags have laughed at us for 30 years!

Dont think bad of all of us pal! I totally respect Moyes, in no way is he a gloryfied Fat Sam! and Lescott is worth every penny Moyes puts on his transfer fee if we sign him, i think he is one of the most underrated players in football!

No worries Dan, I was a bit shocked by some of the things i've seen on here previously but i've also had some good chats with level headed people on here who prove that there's some sound City fans out there. Good luck for next season... I think Tevez was a hell of a signing for you guys btw!

Actually your assuming things and are completely wrong. I've had some good debates with some people on here, we've not always agreed but we've had some good debates that haven't resorted to sad pathetic and frankly arrogant views like some on here have resorted to. Its clear that some people on here are either just ignorant twats or know nothing about football. like I said tho there's also some really decent people on here who do know their stuff. I just find the hostility towards fans of other teams shockingly bad... I bet they wouldn't have behaved that way b4 the billionaires rolled in!

appreciate what you say but if the board says "he goes" then a decent manager will understand the decision and move on.
They don't need to sell, and will leave it with the manager to make such a decision.

Should we really be financing Everton's team re-building plans? We should have a valuation for Lescott, and if Everton are not prepared to sell at that price, we should move on. The Terry situation is different, because there simply aren't many players in the game of his calibre and standing.

i am of the belief that the deal is done and price is agreed - imo this is just media bollox to keep fans happy etc.

we will pay somewhere between 18 and 20 mil plus add ons and i think he will be good value for that.

Everton imo do need to sell and want to, they just have to manage the fans through this.

i don't personally give 2 hoots about whether everton spend the money or not as long as we get the player we want.
