I think we'll either have to offer close to 30mil to force Evertons hand or Lescott will have to request a transfer. Will he request a transfer? I'm not so sure but sure we'll see soon enough
no way city will offer that. going on recent deals, I would expect the third offer to be the last, unless everton encourage a fourth. I would imagine city would not offer more than 20-22m, and that they'll want it sorted one way or the other in the next week.

DSOB, do you think Lescott will stay at Everton or join City?

50/50 bud .
In my opinion , the offer is too low , and serves to do little more than unsettle our pre-season preparations .
If I was asked to give my own opinion though , I think he will stay , and perhaps the situation may be reviewed in January .

Conventional pricing cannot be applied. Everton do not want to weaken themselves, understandably. Clearly we will have to pay over the odds for him. We can afford to. I can't see them turning down 25 million which represents a third of their turnover! Is he worth that to us? Last piece of the jigsaw and all that......

What do you think Everton will accept?

£25m?

tbf I find that a strange page to put on your OS... Everton are expected to formally reject an improved bid? Why not say you are rejecting it or wait until you do publicly and then make the most of it on your site? Or is it just me who thinks that is strange?

It must be addressed formally by the board and replied to accordingly , hence the delay .

Is that the official Everton site?

Yes m8 .

Hmm. Just seems to have a strange editorial tone. Lots of examples but this one in particular.

"But City are, as expected, being persistent. Having failed to land John Terry from Chelsea they have completed the signing of Arsenal's Kolo Toure. Now they are determined to add the versatile Lescott to their expensive new squad."

We all knew this would get rejected, Everton know we have cash they dont want to sell etc.

Lescott knows this is probley the only chance to get his big move. He will have to ask leave soon or we will move to another target and we'll probley end up paying 20-22m.

If Everton aren't prepared to sell for £18m we should move onto other targets.

Why?

We could still look at targets which chasing Lescott.

£18m is already too much, if they want more we should walk away.

I can't see us offering that either but thats probably what it'll take to get him if he doesn't request a move
