Cheers Spuddy, do you wanna sell your house ?
SPUDDY said:Obviously i meant £20 million although we would probably get £20 of that to invest in the team.
Why is Richards so disliked these days ?
BGIB said:I cannot see this deal happening until the January window, if it is going to happen at all. Reasons being as follows:
1. If he stays at Everton he has European football next season in a world cup year.
2. Jagielka as we know is out until November leaving only Yobo, and if we know one thing about David Moyes it is he will not be bullied into doing business he does not want to do.
3. Please remember that Evertons form from November on was superb. With the addition of 3 decent players and the return of Arteta and Yakubu they will be as usual be vying to challenge for a European place again. He will surely consider that as well if he is happy there, which he came out and said he was recently.
Taking all of the above into account, the only possible reason for him joining Man City prior to that is to double his salary. He does not strike me as that type of character from his media interviews, but if he does, good luck to him.
For those saying a good deal for Everton is Dunne and 15m, or 15m and Jo on loan, you clearly have no idea about football or are just being disrespectful to Everton and Moyes. The club has moved forward on the pitch a hell of a lot in recent years as results show. Dunne is a bit of a cart horse and not good enough for Everton.
If Everton got Jo and anything above 15m I would consider it decent business, as Jo is worth around 7 at least. I am sure Moyes would go out and find the somebody to replace him easily enough if given that cash to spend. 2 years ago maybe, but he looks a bit sluggish now.

people say he's up his own hole, and he had one bad season. I still love the guy.

Well I had no intention of being disrespctful to your club or manager so by your own statement I must "Clearly know nothing about football". Seeing as you are clearly the oracle on these matters can you explain to me why £15m-£16m + Dunne for Lescott would not be good business for Everton, who have restricted finances, should Lescott force this issue through ? bear in mind you also have Yobo and Jagielka, and to push on could do with strengthening other areas. If you got cash only for Lescott I could see it being £20m max, and as soon as you have that replacement defenders prices will go up, as selling clubs will know your budget.
