Here's what I think we should do:

Keep the Lescott deal open, dont put any new bids in, just continue to show/fake an intrest, for now anyway.

Secretly enquire about a few good centre halfs around europe, keeping our cards closer to our chests than ever before, and get info on who is willing to sell, who is willing to leave and for what price, if we can find the right guy then we walk away from Lescott, and only then, we need to keep our options open.

And finaly, we take jo back and loan him to someone else of no threat to us. without the slightest warning to Evilscum.

We just don't have time for this anymore. Lescott is playing, Everton don't want to sell, if he wants to come it's obvious he isn't going to force the issue. The season starts in 8 days, we really needed to get Lescott/another CB in a week ago. Our team is going to have so many new faces they're going to need as much time as possible to gel.

We have now run out of time(unless we sign a non-international)we will not add a CB before opening day, because I can't see anyway we can sign someone while he is away and even if we do he will not train with the team before Friday of next week.
