Somewhere in this long thread somebody has no doubt already posted that the the Everton position in this saga is wholly fabricated. From beginning to end it is a stage-managed process designed to protect the manager and board from the anger of the fans as their best and most valuable player is sold because of their debt problem.

My concern is that we seem to have gone along with this charade as part of the deal, compromising our entirely legitimate way of dong transfer business.

Anyone know where it was. It had "City@Home" on the wall. Is this the new building they've put up over the summer (not been passed it yet).

This may well never happen again ever,but I agree with you 100%.
Except for the "dong transfer".
I thought that was included with the rest of the player anyway.

This may well never happen again ever,but I agree with you 100%.
Except for the "dong transfer".
I thought that was included with the rest of the player anyway.

I dont see how we've gone along with the charade. Hughes has constantly defended the club saying we think we are doing our business in the right way. If it weren't for Everton this deal would never have been known about in the first place.

Yes but,(whilst certainly not defending Gollum),all he did was refuse our initial interest - thats how the press got hold of it.
Its not as though he shouted from the rooftops.
And,you could argue,only by us "upping the ante" was Lescott "forced" into handing in a transfer request eventually.
I honestly think that Moyes was resigned to this scenario from day 1 - all he has done by prolonging matters is to screw another £2 million in small change out of us,whilst still smelling of roses with his fans,as Kenwright obviously wanted our cash all along,as they are potless.
All managers persue players that they want,none more so than the Talking Scrotum.
But then,when we do it we are ruining football.
 
Although the price may seem steep, Lescott is a very good defender with lots of experience and don't forget he scores more goals than half of the strikers in the league. Big plus from me. Another very good addition.
