Well the obvious anwer is to fuck Everton over.

But why not loan to a burnley or bottom half club that is not in direct competetion with us or abroad ?

It was stupid to loan him to Everton without strings attached - if that turns out to be the case.

If as expected we dont sign Lescott the majority of our fans will expect him to be recalled and loaned elsewhere. If that cant be done, its going to reflect badly on Hughes and co if we dont get something out of it in the end.

Can we please stop talking about recalling Jo as if it's a possibility, as mentioned earlier in the thread, if a loan is greater than 93 days (so basically 3 months) then you CAN'T recall the player, under any circumstances.

Thank Christ somebody actually has an idea of the rules.

To be fair it wasn't me who mentioned it, I just actually read it!!

The Lescott situation will soon be over(15th of August)either he will sign for around 18-24 million or not and if not we make a 10-12 million bid for Upson. and htne bring in a left back just incase bridge breaks a few bones.

Well in a years time your best defender will resent you for not letting him join us. Your best forward will be sold to anyone other than yourselves. Cahill will be over the hill, and Howard will still be shite.

:)
and don't forget they will still have Phil chuckle!

Well, this is it DLBIA.

In one week, the season starts again, and we will once again be at war with each other. No more agreeing with each other (unless you start believing in the useless Welsh git).

It's been fun...

:)

Would prefer to see Zander promoted to the first team squad.

No, I'm 99% sure that one of us will have killed the other by then :)

Your not listening. Was Jakielka, Arteta and Yakubu injured at the start of last season ?

At the start of last season, Everton had nine outfield players fit who had started a top flight game. Our subs bench contained six kids. That's six, because we couldn't find a seventh.

Our midfield line on opening day was Valente (a left back), Rodwell (a 17 year old who had played centre back all his youth, making his debut), Jagielka (a centre back who had been horrendous in midfield for us), Osman, and Arteta (who was unfit but frankly had to play).

Fellaini hadn't arrived yet, and he didn't find the pace of the league until Novemberish. There was the spectre of Moyes leaving, which didn't end until he signed a new contract around October time - which is roughly when our season got going after an absolutely abysmal start.

I don't think you can look at our squad today and in any way say it's weaker than it was at the start of last season. Everyone talks about how good Spurs will be without the period before Redknapp arrived, but Everton only had 6 more points than Spurs when Redknapp arrived. At the end of the season, they had 12 more than Spurs. That is to say, good as Spurs were under Redknapp, they still were outperformed by an injury ridden Everton.
