lescott - part of the Jo agreement

If we're picking the best team from both currently available squads, I'd go for this...

--------------Given--------------

Zabaleta---Kompany--Lescott---Bridge

--------------de Jong--------------

SWP------Arteta----Ireland---Robinho

---------------Cahill---------------

Neither has a decent target man available at the moment which is costing us both, ok us more, so I'd play Cahill highest up the pitch...

For a long time now we've been crying out for an out and out winger like your petrovs or downings. But i feel that our left side is really strong which you will have seen against UTD. If it was the other way round and he was a right sided player he'd be the first name on our team sheet.

And what ive seen of him against us he was in Hibberts pocket all day.

Yeh he was. It baffled alot of people to be honest because no offense, the general consensus is that Hibbert is a bit shit. However he fits into your team spirit and style of play.

Do you genuinely believe you will be able to maintain your position over the next couple of years?
All banter aside we have a very good team now, which should only get better once it gels and a seemingly bottom less pit of cash as well as a great youth setup. We will catch you. Villa have over taken you. I think you could start to slide if you dont get the investment from somewhere.

Haha, thats the same feeling with the Everton fans too! Hibbert - honestly - has probably got one of the best Tackles in the league, but his marking is poor, passing poor and crossing is poor, thats why not many people rate him. However this season he has proved everyone wrong really.

Id take Sweep out, put Arteta there and put Fellaini in.

The problem we had last season was the teams basically knew our threat = Petrov and Elano, nullify them, and we won't score. That meant against any team that was competent at shutting a player down, we weren't going to score (considering our set-pieces were so bad). So in many matches, expecially against the likes of Everton, Petrov would get totally shut out, if any team gave him a bit of space he could destroy them though.
i miss petrov... when hes back i think it will be

-----------------------GIVEN-------------------------

---ZABELETA---DUNNE---RICHARDS---BRIDGE---

---------------DE JONG---KOMPANY----------------

---------------------ROBINHO-----------------------
--SWP------------------------------------PETROV--

I'd have to find a place for Jagielka

We will do a comparison between each player for their position for us and city

Heres what i think is our strongest team and ide apreciate it if somone can post your strongest team so we can compare

Howard
Hibbert
Jags
Lescott
Baines
Arteta
Fellaini
Neville (dm)
Pienaar
Cahill
Yakubu

Given
Zabaleta
Kompany
Bridge
Richards
De Jong
Ireland
Wright Phillips
Petrov
Robinho
Bellamy.

Hopefully the striker will be Santa Cruz come tomorrow.

Howard vs Given = Given
Zabelete vs hibbert = hibbert
Kompany vs lescott = lescott
Richards vs jags = jags
SWP vs arteta = arteta
De Jong vs neville = de jong
Ireland vs fellaini = fellaini
Petrov vs pienaar = pienaar (dont rate petrov at all tbh)
Robinho vs Yak = Robbihno
Cahill vs bellamy = Cahill

You dont rate Petrov? Wow. Best winger in the prem, bar Ronaldo. Absolutely frightening if not double marked. It's really done my head in that he's been injured, to have him in the same side as Rob, Ireland and SWP would have been great. He's one of the last few proper wingers left in the game. Frightening pace, great crosser and hard as nails shot. Bit of a wuss, to say the least lol, we really miss him. He tore teams to shreds last season. There's no way Dunne deserved player of the year ahead of him. I've yet to see anyone give a full back as torid a time as he did to Blackburn last season. If only Bianchi could score open nets.

Anyway, I think its quite obvious we have a better set of players and a stronger squad. Would like Arteta, Jag and Yakubu tho. It is equally obvious however that Everton are the better team at present. We need time to gel and a bigger presence upfront to do our talent justice. Credit to Moyes. Cant believe he gets so much stick off a number of everton fans.

Just shows how far Micah's let himself go when people think he's not as good as Jagielka. 12 months ago we wouldn't have swapped Everton's whole team for him. He needs a big kick up the arse.

Imo everton are a much better organised team than City with players suited to their style of play. Most of those players wouldn't suit our style or look very good in it but one or two would. Everton are brilliant at set pieces & that side of the game but we're better at the pure football side although lacking in key areas. A mixture of the two would be ideal but it'll be easier for us to become good at the things Everton are good at than the other way around.

I'd much rather have our squad & bulid on it because I think we're on the right track & we'll go past them in the near future, perhaps in the VERY near future. Good luck to them though.

Arteta plays central/left mid... Plus I'd just HAVE to have Tim Cahill in as I think he's brilliant and I'd pay a fortune for him...

But hey it's hypothetical so whatever..

Both squads have similar problems positionally but Everton have what we currently lack... Fight!

Jagielka really is fantastic. If you have watched his recent performances against Liverpool, Liverpool, Arsenal and United you would know he is good. And he is normally better too!

Every Evertonian was shocked when he wasnt picked for England and Lescott was.
