Has proven we need a quality backup CB. That giveaway near the end, what was he thinking?

Only problem being he is one of our 'english' players so is needed in the squad

At least he is not Bridge!

There's a reason he was at everton rather than a top club, he never has been and never will be top class, it's that simple. £20odd million to replace Dunne with a player of the same standard, not in any way Lescott's fault but we got mugged big time.

The moral of the story?

Stop overpaying & buying players like RSC & Lescott.

Well hughes is gone now so we shouldn't have to worry too much

If chelsea are itnerested and want to offer a decent amount of money, it's certainly tempting. The thing is though if we were to sell him we'd either have to replace him or Boateng or someone would have to step up to the plate, we don't wanna be left short and blow our chances because we've sold one of our better centre halves. If chelsea's interest in buying him is true then I think they're panicking about missing out on a CL spot. We could probably get a decent fee for him if so

and no doubt he would have to be either replaced with somebody english which is no easy task or we would have to replace him and buy an extra english player
