I'm not convinced but agree he has improved this season.

Well done Joleon.
Did we have the best defensive record last season? What about this, considering Vince has been out for 5 of them games (plus the 2 games where he went off), where Lescott has even had to look after a new and young CB?

I think we have Joe Hart to thank for that but like I said, props to Lescott for his marked improvement this season.

If a better option to partner Vinny as 1st choice pairing became available in the summer would I take it? Without doubt and Lescott could therefore be utilised for squad rotation/back-up.

When lescott first signed he was pretty good on his debut but i got to the point where i was closing my eyes when he got the ball. now its a completely different story he looks good and comfortable on the ball and today he was immense. hope it continues.

what will it take, hes been one of our best players all season !!!!

nice guy and good at defending but just cannot play football.

Kompany can play football and he creates chances with insightful balls out of defence, lescott barely ever plays it forward and most of the time backwards.

This is one of those situations where, even though we like the guy, we have to accept that he just will never have the quality needed in a footballing sense. He would not get into barcelonas side, kompany would because he is complete.

Sadly in Lescotts case, it isn't something you can learn, its inherent quality on the ball.

Sorry guys, he still makes me close my eyes every time he receives the ball. His decision making and anticipation is the reason why but agree it has improved massively this season. Mainly due to having Vincent next to him.

imo he lacks various attributes (Composure/technique/pace/strength) required to be considered a 'top class' defender and Hart has saved his blushes on numerous occasions this season.
