Hypothetical question.

If we were to trade Tevez for Players from where ever with no transfer fee. other than wage negotiations with his new club, what money would Joorabchian get ?

It all depends on the deal he has with Tevez, and Real. In terms of Tevez, he might get an annual payment or cut of his salary. Might be a contract to say 10% goes to kia for example, so therefore he would benefit from Tevez getting a payrise. He might also be contracted to take a percentage of any signing on fees Tevez gets.

In terms of Real, they might pay Kia to "take care of business". Contract negotiations, working on paperwork with lawyers etc, and basically use him as a consultant to free up their own Executive time to do other things / work on other projects.

City wouldnt pay him a bean if they didnt want to. Cooke, Marwood etc could liase directly with Real and agree who we would be swapping Tevez for. The only time this might differ, is for if we were looking to swap him for a player who Kia represents (not sure if Real have any), and he might ask for a handling fee as part of the deal, or he might be contrated with the player to take a percentage of the players signing on fee (which wouldnt be us giving him money directly)

One thing for sure is, that if a deal was to take place between City and Real, both parties would have to liaise and speak with Kia at some stage, which gives him power in the deal. If he has power, he has influence.

Hope this helps

It helps, as in thanks for the answer. It doesnt however help in me looking for a way for Tevez to move on without Joorabchian making a fortune out of it. Oh well, back to a toss up between retirement and asasination for now ;o)

exactly why this is happening, Kia wants to cash in.

Wasn't Kia already involved with the club before the takeover? I thought Shinawatra used him as a negotiator and that's why we bought Jo. He was also present when we went over to Milan to try and sign Kaka.

I just think some of this has come back to bite us, its all well using him to get players here but we had to expect something like this was going to happen. He was kept too close to the club.

Just a thought but could the Harassment Sections in Employment Law be Joorabachian's Ace up his Sleeve?

We spend a load of Wedge on Tevez and RSC at virtually the same time. 18 months later; we say to one of the two players - look, here you go,it's not worked out a cut price move for 25% of what we paid for you and here's a nice little sweetener for getting you off our Wage Bill. Yet, we dont treat the other player the same?

I really want one of the "cleverer" Posters to come and smash my (horrible) thought to pieces.

As each player has an individualised contract then there cannot be a claim for commonality of treatment.

It would of course be very much different if every player were employed on the same terms and conditions.

(I wonder of scoring a goal can be deemed "and any duties deemed reasonable by the management? If so c'mon RSC pull yer finger out)

this is it from my point of view.

Real Madrid had 2 way discussions with City in the summer. City talked about Higuain and a few others, Real talked about Tevez. Nothing was agreed on either side but Kia's eyes lit up and he sensed another payday. So he starts talking to Carlos about it on a regular basis. City try to pacify Carlos with the captaincy and some new signings, as Carlos is still unhappy about the Hughes sacking, no Champions League football and he isn't convinced about Mancini.

City do well, but Kia is getting frustrated by the boardroom's cracking down on him, so starts trying to convince Carlos that he should force a move through to Madrid. Kia plays on Carlos's homesickness, by telling him that he's far more likely to get his family to come back over if he's in a warmer, more familiar spanish speaking country, though really Kia is only interested in his big final payday from his main asset through a big money deal to Real. Carlos agrees and signs off and hands in his transfer request, vetted and prepped by Kia, and City rebuke it. Kia angry, puts out a statement with Carlos's name on, but unfortunately this only shows himself up as the one who has the issues with the board, not Carlos. Carlos and Kia leg it to Tenerife to escape press attention, City laugh off statement.

I think that's where we are at.

That's pretty much how I see it.

I think if City stick to the no deal message and make it absolutely clear, then we will see some fairly dramatic backtracking from Kia/Carlos.

Expect "It's all been a Big Misunderstanding" type headlines soon with the subtext of Mancini having done what Ferguson did with Rooney.

I hope you're right.

Al the language I have read certainly seems to be Joorabchian inspired, and I find it hard to believe that the player would be that disrespectful, and that annoyed by club execs.

Formerly I thought of Tevez as the very antithesis of the modern day footballer image. I am clinging to the hope that this boils down to a disagreement between Joorabchian and the City board and the basic relationship between player, manager, and fans is sound.

If Tevez would be happier in a Spain, then I can understand and appreciate that, but do it openly and do it at the end of the season with the amicable agreement of all.

I'm sitting back a little more relaxed than I was on Sat night / Sunday morning. So little of this makes much sense

Guillem Balague(believe what you will) has said that Real Madrid won't sign Tevez because:

a) Florentino Perez is good friends with Sheikh Mansour and won't bid for any players we're interested in or having problems with.
b) Real are waiting to see what happens with Higuain's injury.
c) Mourinho thinks he is too expensive and he won't be able to keep Higuain, Benzema and Tevez and he wants a tall striker like Dzeko.

Ballague went on to say he could go to Barca, they don't need him but may want him as an out and out replacement for Eto'o.
