Agree with the OP. He will get better but that was a big game for him and you could see he was nervous. Didn't want the ball and gave it back at every opportunity. The same goes for Lescott which is why Barry and Dejong sat so deep to collect these short passes.

To be fair to the lad more senior players just ahead of him like Barry and especially de Jong didn't gave the young lad any help to settle in the first half, the penalty was a bit harsh as both had their legs in the air and the momentum of each player involved meant the they would make contact.

Once he settled down, and when we changed formation in the second half he improved. I think some on here should give him a break, after all those going on about onuoha should remember he was no great shake in his first few games either
