I'm assuming it means after he's had discussions with the manager (whoever that may be) in the Summer.

but not in the position he would normally play mate? Ake came as a CB and was on the bench mainly until Dias got injured, Laporte seemingly kicked off behind the scenes and Ake took over from Cancelo and done amazingly?

His normal position literally does not exist in City's system.but not in the position he would normally play mate?
His "normal position" was left of a CB pairing (in and out of possession).
He's now a Left-Back out of possession, and a left centre-back in a three out of possession.
My point is there are spaces for Colwill. Cancelo will be leaving, Laporte probably too.

This lad is nowhere near Gvardiol, IMO. He had a poor showing yesterday. One decent season is not enough for me, so he is not a City-level signing. He is yet to prove that level.
And Gvardiol is proven playing in the Bundesliga?

He’s been beyond decent. He has been excellent. Young but experienced in English football. Excellent ball playing defender.
