Leyton Orient (A) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Not begrudging Orient, they gave it a go. Not pretty from us but had more than enough chances.

However, that was a combination of the worst commentary and refereeing performance I've ever seen. Keown is a very bitter man, must have got Arsenals league title last season tattooed too early.

The referee so far out of his depth that City should lodge a complaint. Horror tackle on Marmoush just gets a yellow and a blatant penalty ignored. Zero player protection.

Hope Gonzalez is okay. Into the next round.
How many shit puns did they try? 20-30. They’re meant to be commentators not shit comedians.

Look at the shit he wears, though. See those lesbian boots, as one Bluemoon wit called them? Best bit of the day was when BBC switched off their line-up of fcukwits at 2:30 pm.
I can't actually stand listening to, or watching him. Those WBAC adverts are just plain embarrassing.
As for co-commentators - it was an American thing to stick an ex-pro in with a commentator, so we sheep-like had to follow it.
Whenever I watch an old clip with just Barry Davies or just John Motson, I long to go back to just one trained voice on the mic

It was an audacious attempt, definitely. But it wasn't going in before it hit Ortega. For me, that rules it out of being a great goal.

Bitter? Me? Where do you get that idea from?

I'm the same.....it was a fantastic attempt, but for it hitting Ortega it wouldn't have gone and would've gone down as a nearly moment.

The fact the commentating twats tried keep giving the goal to Donely is another story.

Their whole coverage was a disgrace and although I get everyone backs the underdog they took it to the next level. Fucking Murray said to Rico after the game the whole country was hoping we'd lose. Then they can't even sort out both managers to be interviewed properly. Cunts!
To be fair to Murray he was right in what he said. We are there to be shot at, it is the price we pay for being successful. I know the media don't force the issue when the red cartel lose but you can bet the rest of the country enjoys it.

'That is why this competition is unbelievable'

FT: Leyton Orient 1-2 Man City

Manchester City

Man City manager Pep Guardiola speaking to BBC Sport: "We played a really good game, it was a typical FA Cup game - that's why this competition is unbelievable. We knew that they were strong and they'd run in the channels. They are a really good team and incredibly well managed but we created a lot of chances. I'm happy to go through."

On whether he felt his side struggled in the first-half: "I don't think so. The first 10/15 minutes maybe but after the fantastic goal that they had - we took the game and created a lot of chances."

On whether he was frustrated that he had to bring on Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne: "Absolutely not, that is why they are here. We talk this competition incredibly seriously and we thought it was the best decision to make. I am happy for Kevin's goal, his movement was really good.

When asked if he can say what he was speaking to Phil Foden about at the full-time whistle: "No."

On Nico Gonzalez's injury: "Welcome to the Premier League and the referees. Maybe he knew about the referees because I understand it's not easy. It's not easy to do something when you play against teams like in League One."

Only thing that was a worry was the players looked scared / nervous. Timid with how we played. They looked shit scared to make a mistake and few look like there’s doubt within the final third. Scared to play a ball through or take the risky pass.
Seems the entire squad has contracted a chronic sleeping sickness.

I just love the FA Cup, great effort from Leyton Orient, Khusanov looked really decent, felt we just deserved it.

The Boys in Blue didn’t give in. They fought to the end. Well done City well done lads, well done fans.
You showed ‘em. You showed ‘em all.
I enjoyed that game.

That referee needs his license taken away! He obviously hasn’t read through the rule book.
Does he not know who we are? Well I’ll tell him. We are: MANCHESTER CITY THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD.
Probably a Trade Act misrepresentation at this moment in time

So many changes to the side it was never going to be a smooth display
Poor last few months. Pep with his own off field issues. Injuries. A batch of new players.

I don't care who you play it's not going to suddenly be treble winning sterling silver clad performances.

I'm content we scraped back a win and hope Gonzo is okay.
