Leyton Orient (A) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Credit to Orient, great goal which gave them hope and belief. They got forward when they could and gave us a few scares, and their fans came across as decent which made a refreshing change to the usual lower league club fans taunting us with unoriginal shit songs.

We were neither good or bad but too good for them in 2nd half. I'm just relieved we got through. Let's hope we can get it together Wednesday night.
Tuesday

I wasn't surprised how the game played out, on our current form it was never going to be easy. The downside is the Gonzalez injury. Hopefully it's just soreness from the player falling on him. I can't believe that prick Cooper didn't get sent off for that disgusting tackle on Marmoush. His only intention was to injure him.

Fuck sake, all I wanted to hear was an update on Nico and they cut off the greatest manager in the world for this rag season ticket ****

Their whole coverage was a disgrace and although I get everyone backs the underdog they took it to the next level. Fucking Murray said to Rico after the game the whole country was hoping we'd lose. Then they can't even sort out both managers to be interviewed properly. Cunts!

Glenn Murray actually said to Rico post match that everybody in the country apart from City fans, wanted us to lose

He may be right but I’ve never heard this actually said during the coverage of a rags or dipper match against lower opposition
I love the fact we are hated! People only hate teams that are/have been continuously successful .

I've written this season off. We might, if we're lucky, scrape an FA Cup win.

Me too. To do that we would need all our injured players to actually stay fit and our new signings to get up to speed quickly. I thought the center half was decent today.

Shaky start against a well organised side.

Miles away from the City of just a year ago, and loads of work to do for this team to be PL or CL champions.

The lack of pace throughout the side is really really worrying, especially with our unorganised defending. Closing down as a team has been fantastic in the past and helps to null the oppostions pace, however we're at a point where every team looks really dangerous from any type of forward pass.

I think we have to be honest (as much as it hurts) and expect another defeat from RM, most likely similar to the Arsenal defeat, regardless of Nico recovery.

Its just where we are at the moment and no amount of flapping or blame will change it.

Best to look to the future and get on with giving these players our full support.

The Boys in Blue didn’t give in. They fought to the end. Well done City well done lads, well done fans.
You showed ‘em. You showed ‘em all.
I enjoyed that game.

That referee needs his license taken away! He obviously hasn’t read through the rule book.
Does he not know who we are? Well I’ll tell him. We are: MANCHESTER CITY THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD.

Only thing that was a worry was the players looked scared / nervous. Timid with how we played. They looked shit scared to make a mistake and few look like there’s doubt within the final third. Scared to play a ball through or take the risky pass.
That's down to a lack of confidence; every mistake this year seems to have ended up in a goal for the opposition so you become risk averse and scared to try anything.

It was an audacious attempt, definitely. But it wasn't going in before it hit Ortega. For me, that rules it out of being a great goal.

Bitter? Me? Where do you get that idea from?

Did they show it in the Priory?

Khusanov had a good game but that first frame of him right before 2nd half kick off he looked like he was about to have a break down. Maybe that's just resting Uzbek face.
