Why would Delap come back though? He’s making a name for himself, playing regularly, developing. Everything he needs at this stage. He needs to stay at Ipswich and develop. All he needed was consistent game time, which we can’t provide most of our young players. They have to pretty much be ready made instantly, which 99% of youngsters aren’t.

I’m not sure about that. Young players just need solid game time. McAtee should be getting at least 30 minutes every game at the minute. Palmer should have got the chance to play in his favoured position before he left. Not every player needs to be the best on the pitch for City. There aren’t many 18 year olds/ young players who are the best in the world. That’s almost an impossible standard to meet. Foden at 18 wasn’t at that level.
