Liam Delap

And how on earth would you know? You know nothing about Chelseas recruitment, or how they see Delap fitting into it. In fact you know very little about anything transfer or player development related but you seem to think you have all the answers.

Exception to what rule? The rule that players often improve and reach their potential if they spend time on the pitch?
Cole Palmer's instant success is a rarity at Chelsea. Chelsea's recruitment has been hit and miss and at times has mirrored what united had been constantly doing which is constantly wasting money.

If reports were true then Chelsea had sent away the bad recruitment team and let the team recruit Palmer take charge now. Basically an exiled Man City old team. That is also the big reason why Delap is strongly linked with Chelsea.

1. Name me one club that doesn't have a hit and miss transfer strategy. Chelsea has clearly shown that they want to rebuild the team by investing in as much young talent as possible, they absolutely understand that not everyone will have a career there. Not everyone has to
2. Why are you talking about Palmer now? This discussion is about Delap, who already have 6 months worth of regular Premier League football to analyze. Which is more than Cole Palmer ever got here before Chelsea bought him

It was an opportunsitic signing more than design.

No it isn't. Chelsea had been monitored Cole Palmer ever since they recruited his tutor. The opportunistic part was that they did not believe City willing to let him go to vacate a spot for Doku. City made a bad judgement that is all. No shame to admit it.

Drogba scored 10 Premier league goals in his first season in the PL and was a late bloomer, and played in a similar bully boy style to Delap. It's a myth that you need a 25 goals striker.

If you spread the goals around the team it doesn't actually matter.

Goals would come come from Cole Palmer behind him or Madueke on the wing. Even if he only got knockdowns for Cucarella to head in, it would be enough of a reason to play him.

France won the World Cup with Giroud playing as defensive striker bully boy.

Palmer didn't show any signs of his Chelsea form you can't deny that either. Put down your bait with this. Chelsea didn't fuck up when they both let KDB and Salah go earlier on and we haven't with Palmer.

Drogba scored plenty before he made the switch to Chelsea. There was no indcation Palmer was that type of scorer either whilst at City.
