I am sure I read somewhere that his buyback clause doesn't kick in until the end of this seasonI like Delap but if we have a buy back McAtee doesn’t need to go that way.
Unless we can’t activate it yet.

I'd say the position is 3rd on the list for January. One to look at in summer.
Bigger priorities for January
I like Delap's potential but if we sign another 9 we need one with a different skillset than Haaland. Liam isn't at that level of course but we need another gear at that position.
There is no danger or risk with this signing, just like when we did the same with Angelino. There is always a danger we can stall his career if we did re-sign him just for the sake of having cover. The caveat is we have got to give him more game time which we can't guarantee with Haaland being our main striker.
Erling gets to play 60-70 mins regularly instead of flogging himself senseless,
£80m, fucking hell, the world's gone madAlbeit I only watched the Sky extended highlights of Ipswich 2 Chelsea 0 but Delap … what a player!!! His willingness to run with or without the ball and the strength and power. Can take a mean PK. I’d sign him if I was Pep. Give Erling a rest.
As an aside what is the buyback amount as some papers say he is now valued at £80M? I only think the club actually know.

pep should change it, he is entirely too wedded to this system and it currently isnt working with the players available to him, its completely churlish to ever question pep and i get that but sometimes you have to play the cards you're dealt and work with what you have .Would be worth getting back if we were open to changing tactics and playing him AND Haaland together, our current game of playing two wingers and two supporting AM's is stopping us short, seems to me teams have figured out that we only really play one man in midfield, rodri is ace at it in his own but he is the balon Dor winner, no matter who we get to play in the one man midfield is going to struggle.
Pep won't change it, but would be good to see us play two midfielders and if we must stick with two wingers then 4 2 4 with two central target men would work better
Agreed it's hard to question pep when he has won so much with the system he prefers, but when we are on a run of results that we are then something is clearly wrong, we have been getting overwhelmed in midfield for a long time now, it was ok playing a 1 man midfield when rodri was fit and we had the likes of kev and Bernardo with the legs to get back, we don't have any of those options now.pep should change it, he is entirely too wedded to this system and it currently isnt working with the players available to him, its completely churlish to ever question pep and i get that but sometimes you have to play the cards you're dealt and work with what you have .
exactly and gundogan isnt any help either, like i say you cant really argue against pep and thats understandable but when it isnt working and it clearly isnt then maybe its time to try something else to steady it, maybe when we get a new midfielder in jan then it gets betterAgreed it's hard to question pep when he has won so much with the system he prefers, but when we are on a run of results that we are then something is clearly wrong, we have been getting overwhelmed in midfield for a long time now, it was ok playing a 1 man midfield when rodri was fit and we had the likes of kev and Bernardo with the legs to get back, we don't have any of those options now.
Kovacic gets pelters but he is up against it everyweek having to play against three midfielders with v little help
As a big striker myself back in the day, I can tell you that I watch him with interest. He’s a sprinter, not a jogger, so when he goes, he goes, but when he doesn’t get the ball, he has to recover.I love Erling to bits but not sure I agree he flogs himself senseless in a game
