Lights Out - Part 2 (Club Officials Please Read)

Re: Lights Out - Part 2

I loved it. I got in the ground late on weds so missed it but that really was brilliant, I've not heard singing like that for ages. City are getting it spot on atm.

i think its something that a small club would do. Are we that small club?

Barca? If we get any where near the kind of success they've had on the domestic and European scale then hell yeah I'd love us to be that small club

Re: Lights Out - Part 2

I thought it was far better today than it was on Wednesday, but one small thing, and that is not all the ground sing at the same time, and it sounds a little bit disjointed, but in time it will come together well. I'd like to see it done at half time to, before the players come back. Agree about playing right here, right now while its still dark too.

Its not small time, it can easily be theatrical, and as someone said above its currently unique to us, so lets make it "ours", though being City, one of these games, the bloody lights won't come back on !

Re: Lights Out - Part 2

When we sing it the players on both sides can easily hear it, i could imagine the teams stood in the tunnel seeing the lights out and hear the crowd, sounded and look amazing, as i said previously in this thread, would prefer to hear right hear, right now for a minute then bang the lights on as they come out, would be incredible

well done city, the lights show getst he crowd going at the atmopshere has reached its highest before a ball even gets kicked.

Another point as well, it seems to get fans to there seats earlier which is always a good thing.

this aswell, always better to have everyone in before, also it's better because you actually see the first 2 minutes of the game, i spend the first 2 minutes looking over and around people who decide to take their seats 2 minutes in!

Re: Lights Out - Part 2

people are saying that we should do it every game but good luck doing it in our next home game against sunderland at 3 o'clock. i dont think it will have quite the same affect tbh.

Fuck it, judging by the way our owners get things done, I'm sure they could arrange for a new bloody retractable roof to be put on the stadium just so that this effect can be recreated at every game, regardless of kick-off time.

Either that, or they'll just pay God/Allah, to turn the sun off for a couple of minutes!

;-)

Re: Lights Out - Part 2

I'm gutted I missed this again! On Wednesday I was stuck in traffic and arrived 10 mins in. Tonight the trains were cancelled and delayed so I arrived just as we kicked off. But I could hear the singing very clearly from a mile away as I sprinted to the ground! I'm hoping there'll be another chance so I can experience it properly.

Would it lose it effectiveness in building the atmosphere (for tha players as much as the fans) if it is done often, though? i.e. should it be saved for "special" games?
