Just reading up on Ligue 1 in France, All the broadcasters across the world do not want to renew the deals as they say it has "no value".

TNT Sports which is obviously UK based have pulled the plug on Ligue 1, Spain, Italy, Africa and the Middle East will not show Ligue 1 games.

DAZN is the only rights holder to show it in France, They are charging €15 a month which will get you only 1 game OR €40 a month for all games.

Dark Times for Ligue 1 with no money TV money going into the clubs which will be a huge hit.

They should have sold it better, it's a big country in European terms and their national side has won many things but it all feels a little tinpot.

This is partly why Bordeaux are where they are. Other teams won't be far behind. Especially those at the top end without wealthy owners. And quite a few owners are trying to offload but the clubs are worth nothing.

It's PSG that have devalued it. Everyone knows they just win it every season so what's the point.

With the EPL you know it's going to be a tough title race, even with City being the best. Anything can still happen. In france PSG fart and win the league.

How many of the French team play in France?

I know that their cup games are a bit weird and played in different countries but their top league is as French as you can get so it seems.

I think he meant how many of the players on the French national team play for French clubs.

And the answer is: not many.

Of the 25-man Euros squad, only 7 play their club football in France, and 4 of those play for PSG.

Ahhhh, he did that and it's a good point .

Either way it has been missold even to their own players, maybe French players don't feel as French as we are led to believe?

They have decent attendances, not great but decent amd they have something to work on but by the look of it they have to be quick.

It's been a one team league for years now; that would have very little appeal to broadcasters. I'm surprised that Sky keep shelling out for the SPFL, for the same reason. Celtic have won something like 11 out of the last 12 championships; where's the appeal in that.

And the PL has gone the same way.

;-)
