Just further to that laughable MD article for anyone not familiar with them. They are Barca's mouthpiece, they have 0 connections with us. Even Barca fans are laughing it off as desperation from Bartomeu and give it zero credibility/consideration on their forums. They are no more than a propaganda machine for Barca, think like the BBC for Utd but even less subtlety (if thats possible). You will not see balanced fair or even honest reporting from them unless it benefits Barca.

I wish people didn't insult Gundogan by hoping he would move to Barca. Is it really that difficult to comprehend that Gundogan plays because the best manager in the world decides so? Without Pep the chance to sign Messi this window would be dead in the water. Yet people still pretend they know better than Pep whether Gundogan is good enough.

My take on this fwiw is that people don't "insult" Gundogan because they think they know better than Pep, but rather they "comment" that Gundogan regularly takes the easy option with a sideways/backward pass rather than a riskier pass which could create a chance, regularly bottles out of tackles (I can understand why, he had a horrific injury and maybe he's no longer got the heart for taking a chance again) and doesn't contribute enough in either a defensive capacity or in terms of goals scored/chances created when compared to others in the same position.

Now rather than just toeing the Pep line, is there any of that you disagree with and if so can you back it up?

Gundogan is not my ideal midfielder and I'm not a huge fan. But it's naive to explain Pep's insistence on playing him just with Pep having a blindspot.

We had a severe injury crisis at CB meaning we needed a better protection from midfield in the form of a double pivot (Rodri + Gundy).

Many on here seem to have completely forgotten that Fernadinho was mostly injured during our run of 14 consecutive wins in the league that made us champions and that Gundogan did replace him at DM brilliantly meaning we conceded just 4 goals over the last 14 games.

So, unlike both Silvas, Gundogan could play with Rodri at DM. Our very best games last season involved both Rodri and Gundogan: Real away and home, Manure away in the cup, Liverpool home.

Pretending to see something better than Pep is like pretending to know better than the best chess player in the world why he loses games sometimes, e.g. by using one chess opening and not another. Chances are you'd be dead wrong. I think some fans don't really understand the huge difference between their knowledge of the game and Pep's. It's really huge.

Yes, I`m Guilty as charged.

When everything I see tells me Gundogan isn`t Physical enough and slows down play with too many touch I can`t shut my eyes and pretend.

This is the place to air my thoughts and concerns isn`t it or should we shut the fuck up.
