With 11 days left in the window and a looming no confidence vote, I wonder if a Messi transfer is definitively ruled out still. With salaries & veterans being moved on and a number of young transfers possibly falling into place, a release of Leo might garner some good will among socis ahead of the vote on top of a young & balanced squad for the future
Oh you tease :)

Surely it is the opposite. Barts is championing having kept messi, he will be counting on winning votes with that.

To what extent are you looking at it through "Laporte tinted glasses"? Isn't there a Rossell school of thought that is happy to keep Messi even if he's unhappy? Weren't they the conservative base you've mentioned?

I know Laporta's shortcomings too despite being a big fan, I am not part of the contingent pushing for his return. Although I also recognize that sometimes you have to count on the electability factor to get you over the line too - look at Biden in the US

Otherwise yes you are speaking of Nuñismo which Rosell & Bartomeu are students of, it is indeed the conservative base I have talked about before. They exist much like the Trump kids back across the pond - do they represent the majority? Enough Cruyffists & I would wager enough conservatives still saw Bartomeu's shit show for what it has been to sign the motion, finally.

How that plays out in the coming vote, we'll see. As I say, it's the hope that kills you

Always good to get the "inside scoop", as it were. Thanks for sharing FCB.

So his payslip shows £200k to £250k gross? Do you have a source for that other than your own backside?
By all accounts from the more learned sources (first reported in football leaks):

“ According to a report published by L'Equipe a few months ago, Messi is the highest paid player in the world, with a gross salary of €8.3 million per month.

That amounts to a staggering €99.6 million a year – an undoubtedly exorbitant figure for any club, no matter how big the potential financial benefits of signing Messi could seem.”

His personal sponsorships are on top of that. I think the poster you’re replying to is quite wrong on this.

It hasn't gone down like that among fans despite Grupo Godo's best efforts to spin it as you suggest. It's also why the vote of no confidence even is happening, that got them over the line

Yes because bartomeu is so in touch with what the fans think and want for the club.
