People are just getting their hopes up, then when all we get in summer is B listers like Fernando again there'll be more disappointment. those points are all valid, but we'd be replacing Yaya (240kish?), Nasri (150kish), Demicheles and one of Kolarov or Clichy. Thats probably at least 500k in savings.

I would be surprised if Barca would even consider selling Messi while they have the transfer ban until Jan 2016.

They brought forward the transfer of Suarez. Liverpool did not expect to sell him in the summer.

Aguero is responsible for memories that will last generations, to discard him in order to get Messi would be wrong and very... plastic, only strengthening the (false) stereotypes some people have about our club. If you get him on a 6 year contract he's 'only' costing £25m per season + wages so about £40m a year in total. Huge numbers still but much more achievable, especially with the new CL TV deal coming in.
