I just talked to him. He’s furious. Spanish press are trash.

If that's the case, then some questions and assumptions can be raised...

It is one thing to be furious, quite rightly, but it's even more pronounced if you have an inside line to Pep and know Messi is coming to City?

It would be the easiest thing in the world for Sport to ring Pol and ask for confirmation and elaboration.

The fact they didn't suggests to me that it was done on purpose, it served an agenda.

Barca know Pol and Guardiola are close.

It might seem petty, but Barca have form for this type of thing.

Barca articles coming out now saying laporta and Messi have had a good meeting and that it seems like Messi will be staying seems like Barca PR to me.

Barca, using social media to stir thing up you say ?

Wild wild accusation to make with with evidence or historical track record of doing this ;-)

Imgo, they know fine well that once the international fortnight passes, during which Messi went nowhere and had time to discuss any new deals with Laporta or anyone else for that matter, with no agreement or extension to claim, rumours and conclusions kinda start to write themselves really. Everyone in the transfer chatosphere will be expecting something on it the end of this week.

They are just throwing some suggestions out that something is happening to try avoid it spiralling. Even it it is not true. And letting people draw conclusions with the timing of the Segion news.
