Seemed like a purely pragmatic decision on Messi's part. It would have taken most if not all of the 12 months left on his deal to drag it through the courts

Plus the amount of time it would of taken would all count for nothing. Plus by that time he would then wait till Next year to be a free agent like now.

With the way Barca are being run I would be surprised if they can gather the finances to pay not just him but everyone there. I still would like Messi to come but if not then so be it.
