Changes are afoot in US sport - Basketball and NHL play in small arenas... NFL is huge but a middle class preserve given the prices.... baseball is in decline - so where do ordinary Americans watch sport... Soccer has a huge opportunity in the US.

Not gonna happen. Even if they push with mega money it will take decades.

Its just not ingrained in american culture. Soon they will see the sense in stopping the spoon feeding of politics into their sports and that will fix the viewership soon enough. It would help if their sporting stars stopped pandering to china every chance they get, or kneeling during the anthem etc. Regardless of political leaning its not a smart way to push sports as a business.

Also see super league...not the same and not the ideal comparison but clearly prestige matters to players.
