If we can afford Kane then surely we can afford Messi.
Kanes fee plus wages will end up being more than Messi plus Messi brings in far more interest and commercial opportunities.
It just makes no sense not to try especially after last year. Why have the hassle of dealing with Levy and paying an inflated fee for Kane when you can get Messi this year who in theory will at least offer the same if not more than Kane on the pitch.
That will give us a hear to remove other players from the team who want to leave and if possible have a go at Haaland next year for a reduced fee (I am sure Messi would be an attraction).

Not really. We pushed the boat out for him last year, and despite the fuck up over the contract which he thought he had he could still have left. We'd probably have ended up paying a big fee to Barca.Issue is we might not have gone in for him this time which to me would be unbelievable.
But he didn't push it.
I would imagine Pep and the rest were fucked off.
This year we've just bought Grealish for a lot of money. We don't need Messi.
