For a 12 month contract, I’m in (Messi, not Neymar).

Let’s be honest we play pretty controlled football and a lot of our games are attack v defence. Who better to unpick a packed defence.

Neymar has Todd Boehly written all over it.

Messi I think will want to go back to Barcelona but I just cannot see with the current Barca finances that it happen.

He will end up in the MLS for me.

Let him go back to Barca. An amazing player, best of all time as far as I'm concerned, and still has a lot to give, would teach our kids a lot, but he is quite old now and although can absolutely still play at top level I don't think it should be here. Let him return home a hero and retire at Barca. The Messi to City ship has sailed a few years ago.

The window for Messi to City has passed imo. We already have midfield age/legs issues with Mahrez, Gundog & KDB, so I fail to see where Messi would fit in or benefit us.

If he did come, it'd be a luxury signing for £40m per season. We need to look forward, not backward. We need more energy in our midfield, not more elderly passengers. However if Pep says yes... \0/
I agree, regrettably that ship has sailed. It would have been great to have him here three or four years go to play with Sergio but it doesn’t make a lot of sense now to sign a 35 year old on the best part of a million quid a week. I would have loved to see him here but now it’s too late. Go to America Lionel, they would love you in Miami.

Don't you mean in New York? :-)
