We owe him nothing it’s a no from me, carrying him for 90 mins in the premier league whilst dropping someone else just so he can have a big pay day through CFG, let him go back to Barca and struggle.
You realise you’re talking about one of the most talented players in world football?

We don’t owe anybody anything, but signing Messi isn’t a favour no matter who you are. He’s not in the grave yet, and he’s never relied too heavily on the physical side of the game. The technical side doesn’t wane naturally and he hasn’t lost his.

I would imagine the main men at City will be extremely interested.

Profile and money generation wise he’s still the biggest out there.

Football wise, he’d have to accept not starting often but fuck me, what an insane player to bring on when a sprinkling of supernatural magic is needed.

But he isn’t playing in a brutal league like ours, it’s a lot of money for cameos and the circus that comes with it.

He needed Alvarez to supply the legs for him during the world cup. He'll always supply magical moments & special goals, but what about the other 85 minutes?

Because City usually dominate possession, Messi would probably thrive with us, but at what cost? If he finally came here I'd be meh... \0/

If he doesn't, we can move on & do what's best for City, not Messi. In lower grade matches yes, but in high level matches he'd be a passenger with us relying on a magic moment or two.

For me it's not worth it. The moment has sadly passed & that's on Messi.

They chased Pep until he said yes - they no doubt were after him ever since they bought us in 2008 (maybe 2009 after his first season) and I wouldn't be surprised if they're the same with Messi.

A completion of a long-standing objective? Probably too romantic but to get him in would be unbelievable for our reputation globally. The guy has the most-liked Instagram post of all time. Doesn't mean shit to me or 99% of our fans but it will to those who might want a positive Summer after the PL charges damaged the brand a little bit?

Won't happen, but as you said I don't think it's as simple as the club turning their noses up at him. They'll 100% be interested IMO.

Sorry but breaking the bank and paying a player who is mid 30s probably half a million is taking this club backwards not forward. Yes it’s messi one of greatest of all time and yes the revenue around him would be massive but he would play most games so we would be a man short because he hasn’t got a track back in him . Apart from sentiment tell me why you’d have him ?
