It's a thread because we've made serious attempts to sign him, we've got the financial & commercial stuff in place and we've had indications that he'd come if he felt it was the right thing to do. Of course it's that last bit that's been the problem.

He's 2 years younger than David Silva so if people believe that we can get another 3 years out of Silva then we can get 5 years out of Messi. And, as I've said before, it's essentially a zero-cost deal as he's one of the very few players that has so much commercial pulling power that the money flows in behind him. And I'm not talking about shirt sales.
He's not leaving Barca guys, cmon now. What indications? Do you have quotes from him, his agent? There are plenty of clubs with "financial & commercial stuff in place"

This is just delusional imo. Did you not see how Pep handled every question about Messi this season?

The only club he's ever indicated he'd leave to (& that's realistic) before his career dwindles down & decides to retire, is Newells, his boyhood club: http://www.espnfc.com/argentina/sto...-return-to-newells-old-boys-before-retirement

Seems fans from English clubs all over are being led on by unreliable journalists who are just taking advantage of these tax scandals. Same shit happened with Cristiano & Man U the other week. Why do people continue on believing this stuff?

It's pretty obvious there is dialogue between City & Messi.

It's unlikely he will ever come, but situations change. If it changed enough, he would probably land at City.

As for Pep saying 'he's not coming' . Seriously ? You expect him to tell everyone we'd really like to sign Messi, & maybe it will happen, so he has to answer questions on it every fucking week, year in year out ?

So obviously, he is very likely to finish his career at Barca. But it can never be certain, until he becomes too old to bother with.

The greatest of all time. The goals of Ronaldo, the skill of Maradona, the vision of Zidane & the elegance of Cruyff. All in one.

Ronaldo is a great great player and a goal scoring machine but he doesn't touch Messi in terms of ability.
Not just ability mate but as a human being

Think you'll make any big signings this summer mate?

With this board & Robert as SD, I have no idea. I tend to follow a couple of local reporters who are more reliable than general media and most people are familiar with the targets the club has (Verratti, Bellerin & Dembele).

Club needs a CM (Preferably Verratti although that is mission impossible dealing with PSG, Seri as the Plan B) and a RB, first & foremost (I don't prefer Bellerin but the board thinks this is the right choice - me I'd prefer Cancelo, Nelson Semedo or Hysaj)

Deulofeu will be welcome depth to the attacking width

Verratti would be an incredible signing if you can get him.
