the fee for one player at that level is the holding off point and why we never could under the FFPR
city look to spend around £250million this summer and not much is coming back from transfer sales in the cull of the squad from last season and the financial year and profit and the wage bill would be something like £500million city would need to turn over for the next 5 years

messi would be a great signing for that alone

also we would not get him for £100m and barca would want top dollar and the financial loss of messi would be hard on them and have somebody take that away would cost i would bet my house on barca having a deal up there sleeves when selling messi something like a 3rd party ownership for the image rights

PB seems pretty clued up about the proposed deal and I would be sure image rights would've been discussed/taken into account.

As he says, £180m, but amortised and with all the extra income it brings, he pays for himself and likely a profit.

(Put those deeds back in the loft!)

its a very big gamble if we pay that for him £180million and he could play 3 games and pick up a injury he has been very luck with injuries at barca and knowing how city are with luck and injury to key players my bet is he will pull up and 3 games and be out for 4 to 6 months hahahahaha

i don't think we could blow that amount on a single player and his wages over 5 years without any sponsorship help from nike or somebody else
the wage would be over £300.000 a week 1.2milion a £15million a year that's minimum so another £80million over 5 years its alot of money

i would love to see him in a blue shirt but not at the cost to the club we should ask for a cheeky loan hahahahahah

He would suit the whole City group strategy perfect and I don't think City would lose that much money for the gains that it brings!
It will not happen though.

My understanding on paying his wages is that we had 3 sponsors lined up at £5m a year each. And there were more queuing up to offer us a deal. So we had everything covered.

that's the idea i was thinking and city pay the basic wage and the rest is in sponsorship
but knowing the greed of players and agents in today game messi would still want £300.000 a week as a basic and top up with sponsorship deals

and if you think about it the front line at manchester city sane sterling jesus silva KDB aguero d.silva its enough going forward and one of them missing out to messi so do we need messi other then a show of muscle and would it be for other stuff like commercial sales overseas and also would the on field play be all about messi and about just getting the ball to him as quickly as possible. yes he is something special but it can a lost to the team and remember we had a player once call kinkladze he was magic and special but the team could not play as a unit and we struggled

yes would love to see messi in a blue shirt but i think we have a young and great front line that can work together and good enough for all the levels pep needs even champions league its the back line that is missing and the need for new fullbacks must come before anything even if messi comes on the market

The greatest of all time. The goals of Ronaldo, the skill of Maradona, the vision of Zidane & the elegance of Cruyff. All in one.

Ronaldo is a great great player and a goal scoring machine but he doesn't touch Messi in terms of ability.
