Oh and for me the sensible option wouldn’t be to buy messi. Even at 33 years old he’s still got it and would command quite a high fee still. Not sure I’d want to ease the burden on a financially floundering club like Barca.

That's the thing though Bob.... No fee they could likely get for Messi with his current contract situation, would make up for the revenue he brings in every season. They certainly wouldn't see it as easing their burden by getting rid of the most marketable player in the world...

I say let em all mortgage the hell out of their clubs especially the G14, how many of the so called elite have astronomical debts? (there’s definitely a pun for em) all these clubs that have infinite debt will have their day of reckoning, look at how much the rags have spent to chase our tail over the last 7 years

That sounds like a plan, and one that a certain scouse red top club are afraid of. Hence why they went to seek assurances from certain quarters regarding FFP before they purchased the club.

Oh how this CAS ruling has thrown a nuclear bomb into their lap

Why are clubs allowed to buy players when they are hundreds of millions of pounds in debt, they shouldn't be allowed to sign anyone until they've cleared their debts.
