At 33 you do not have at least 3 seasons at the top level, you’re about to see a significant decline in his football and I do not want us paying £400k + a week for the privilege of hosting such decline.
FYI, Ronaldo joined juventus at the same age and has had brilliant season individually along with raising a profile of an already super club like juventus many times over.

Also, i have read somewhere he is, willing to take a pay cut for a winning project.

For your decline comment, i won't comment on it, as it does seem u don't follow other leagues (fair enough).

In his 1st trophyless season, @33 years old he has far out performed all our players, a Prime Kevin included ( 20 odd goals to go with 20 odd assist)

Anyway, its all speculation at this stage, let's see how it goes

His walking style would suit the premier league. He is still a young man, yet to approach his peak. He would be very happy moving to Manchester, the language , culture and climate would be an exciting attraction for him, and his family.
It would be great for the team, as they could all play second fiddle to one man, instead of all being equal. For pep a great new challenge, how to get 10 players doing the running of 11. I doubt if anything could go wrong, get it done, even if it cost as much as Felix, mbappe, or Sancho, they are all way too young anyway.

Ronaldo is a different kind of player, he can play as a target man at the latter age, Messi will decline and I said £400k a week incl. the pay cut, he’s on £600k+ now!

Anything over £350k and it messes up our wage structure as KDB and Raz will straight away ask for increases, just as Sanchez ruined it at the Rags, now they’re lumped with £360k donut thief butter hands in goal.

It’ll be a circus as wont help the team.

I’d much rather get someone younger, who’d command £200k-£250k, who is mid 20s and has their best years ahead of them.

fair enough.
Fernandinho and Kompany at their peak were very effective. We have yet to replace either.

We win if we score more that the opponent but imo our attacking midfielders and forwards are A* but our defence is C-.

We have either a 35 year old midfielder playing in defence, or Ota, or a teenager, and a right-back playing centre back. It's not good enough.
We don’t now though, even if we didn't but anyone, we’d have Walker/ Cancelo. Stones, Laporte Mendy/Ake. With Ake in reserve. If Stones could get his head right that wouldn’t be a C - defence. It’s better than what we had this season.
As it is we won’t rely on Stones so that elevates it again. Fitness permitting we’ll concede less than 30 again next season.

1st off, u can't compare Sanchez to Messi!

And I am pretty sure, u wont hear a single grievance from raz and KDB, coz it's Leo freaking Messi!! Who @33 is better than all our players.

He commands such wages and rightfully so.

We made the right decision regarding Sanchez ( with the dressing room troubled due to his silly wages) and IF MESSI GIVES ANY INDICATION to Pep / Txiki, I am pretty confident we will make the right decision as well.

You are thinking from a supporters perspective, the Owners perspective maybe very different, relating to what i mentioned in my previous post.

I don't believe we will sign Messi & tbh I don't want us to, but if he does sign, I don't think he'll have any trouble whatsoever, playing in the Prem or 'losing his legs'. He will just need carrying more than most when we lose the ball & the side will need to be sharper all round (another reason to not be relying on Gundogans, Garcias & Rodris).

Prior to the Bayern game, he was receiving the ball surrounded by players, beating them & turning it into chances. Positions where Sterling etc would lose the ball.

Barca are total shit & still came 2nd.

He might only get 30 goals rather than 60 these days, but he'd probably be our top scorer.
This is the bloke that made Pedro Milne's career. The Premier league will be a doddle for him

As many have people have said messi would pay for himself in sponsorship we would get and for probably 2 years it wouldn't be a gamble. The only stumbling block for me would be the development of foden as I think pep has him lined up for the outside right berth

If we turn down Messi to give Foden as place, isn't that like Foden getting his place by default?

What sponsors? No fans in the stadium, Post Covid Economic recession the world over.

And a 33 yr old fading star, what could go wrong!

Fading star.....that's enough BM for me today...
He is the greatest player of his generation but he is not that player now.

He plays for the club he loves, why would he want to come to us? His family are settled, happy and love Barcelona, they are going to be happy coming to Manchester?

Two years ago, I would have broken the bank for the guy, but not today, let him stay at Barca, there icon, he will never be ours.

Juve gambled with Ronaldo, it's failed and in my opinion Ronaldo is in far better shape than Messi. Ronaldo 31m euros a season, it's killing Juve and the team and club is suffering as a result. I can see them losing Serie A next season.

TBH it makes us look desperate esp after all the recent "City crash out of CL again" news. The fee he'd require would fund 2-3 high level younger players who we really need.
He'll calm down and come to his $ense$ and will finish at Barca.

Can you point me in the direction, that shows me that he is not the same player?

I already posted previously, in his 1st trophy less his numbers far exceed any of our players even Kevin, hell any of those Liverpool's as well (mane, salah etc.)

So i really don't understand where you get that idea of a faded player. I am no Messi fan boy, but its obvious to me atleast.

Let's see anyway if it materializes

He looks tired, not surprising playing in that side the last couple of seasons.

I was watching a highlight clip a few days ago, in his time with Pep, the difference to now is night and day. His work rate was extrononary.

He is still a magnificent player, still probably the best, but he is Barcelona, always will be , always should be.

We need 4 or 5 top players to get back on track, win the title and the Champions League, not be paying 100m fee and 500k week because a player is pissed with the club of his dreams and is looking for a way out.

He isnt leaving Barca, we are not ever signing him and if he has 1% of the alleged influence and power portrayed im fucking glad.

I don't think it can be said anymore that the money that it would cost to get Messi will not impact anyone else. We won't be signing Messi and no one else. Besides, I don't think its even 100m, he can leave for free I believe.

Another supposedly good journalist is backing the news from a few days ago.

I'm starting to worry. People who have all my confidence, assure me that @marcelobechler is not at all wrong with his news that Lionel Messi is weighting his departure from the club now

And the original journalist has been saying more..
