I am Esñanol, Spain is one of the most corrupt countries in all, in sports and in workers' rights, it is a systematic corruption in favor of the most favored system ahhhhh I hate injustice

Had a, shall we say, rather interesting exchange with someone on Twitter earlier who reckons a lot of the financial mess (pardon the pun) at Barcelona is Messi’s doing as he effectively runs the club and if you’re a player there who happens to be a mate of his then you’re quids in salary-wise. He literally claims Messi has all the power at the club as Bartomeu ceded it to him. I called bollocks because although I’ve no doubt he has a fair bit of influence there, there’s no way I can see any footballer - no matter how good - having such a sway at a club so big. A couple of snippets here and I’d be interested to hear what the likes of @FCBarca think of what this guy is saying:

Looks more of that smear campaign than the actual truth. Messi wasn't in the favour of signings made like Vidal and Griezmann. So completely contradicting stuff here.

If the outcome of this is we don’t get him and the two sides go at each other and the real dirt in the finances of football’s elite is exposed, then I still see that as a win for us.
Particularly when you consider the muck that has been slung at us.

Imagine if Spanish giants were exposed in all of this for the shadiness of how they do business.

Oh joy.

As long as we stay distant from these proceedings and let both sides sort it themselves I still don’t see a downside.

Admittedly I’d like to see other transfer targets showing positive signs of movement, but just purely dealing with Messi, keep it up City.

Let the contrast in management styles become something nobody can ignore.

How come Der Spiegal didn't hoover this info up as part of their millions of emails

Very interesting that 'barçagate' has all of a sudden resurfaced when they initially reported the investigation launched in May could last till next year?! If they can't get him to resign someone could be working overtime to get him out ASAP, convenient enough timing

I will generally keep me mouth shut, as I owe that to a friend of our family that works for Barca, but I will say this has been coming for some time.

Bartomeu won't let Messi go.

He now faces a possible(?) Charge of corruption according to the latest news.

The new president or the candidate, (font is it) said if he gets in he'll make the transition for Messi to leave as smooth as possible.

This can only work in our favour if the tosser in charge gets nicked or is forced to step down.

If it's true then we're back on again.
