Lisbon post match fan treatment and supporter services fan info

We left at 3-0, no problems at all. Watched the 2nd half in a bar as that netting was doing my head in. I like to watch the game, not look at it through fucking curtains.
We might of done the full match between us then, I got there just before the 4th goal after a flight delay.

Total farce after the game and felt quite depressing. The over reaction with the riot gear was laughable. Three of us got to the stadium about 3 hours before kick-off, and got off the metro where we were told not to at the Campo Grande. Close by there was a sea of green & white gathered at what looked like their fan zone where food and drink was being served. Went over had a few beers and chat with their fans, no problem. What that was all about after the game I don't know, changed the whole vibe to a negative.
I totally agree, it was a complete over reaction by the Police. I said to my mate that the Police were looking for some sport at City fans expense.

Like you, we made our own way to the ground and found a bar right outside the Metro station which was full of City and Sporting fans wearing their colours and there were absolutely no issues at all.

After the game, when we finally got back to the Metro there was a couple of dozen young Sporting fans, teenage boy and girls. I really don’t think 3000 City fans needed protection from them. When we got back to Rossio Square all the bars were closed which I suspect was the polive plan all along.

The worse I saw was after the game, there was a mob all dressed exactly the same and grouped together, some of them were losing it and couldn't be trusted. It then got well out of hand and they started getting everyone's orders mixed up. Don't think me and my boy will use that McDonalds in Rossio Square again.

Metro was fine. Walked in, no need to pay. Train left almost immediately we got there and didn't stop until Rossio Square.
Good to hear, we were near the back of crowd though so didn’t know how many they could got on at a time. Taxi was only 8€ tbf

Yeah we were at the back, only a few people behind us. We nearly went for a taxi because it looked like it would be a long wait. Perhaps it was just lucky timing?

How did you manage that? The police were stopping anyone who tried.

Anyway, great trip and of course result but afterwards was a bit overkill, although at least the Policia were more 'relaxed' and less baton-happy than their counterparts in France, Italy or Spain.

Expected to be kept in for up to an hour (although annoyingly, a guard told my husband's cousin at 80 mins who needed to get a train back to Cascais where she lives that it would 'only' be 30 mins we'd be kept in after FT) but the slow kettling to a station many didn't want to go to, which then only stopped at Rossio, and being forced by police to stand by a locked gate for 15 minutes was a bit of a dampener. Thankfully we went for drinks after (Delirium) and then played snooker in an excellent hall by our hotel .

Quite a few Sporting fans found my tweet of gate-gate amusing though...

When we got to station we walked up to the right
Police were moving to left
